Winter POV

Our manager brought us to see the CEO for a meeting at the SM building.

He knocked the CEO's door and was told to come as we followed suit and were told to sit down.

The vibe in there was tense as we felt nervous on what was about to come.

"Hello girls so how was your trip?" The CEO kindly asked us smiling to throw off any negative feelings.

We were a bit hesitant to answer his question and Karina unnie answered him like a true leader.

"We enjoyed it very much and we're disappointed that it got cut off short so suddenly" Karina said as the CEO just nodded.

"I think you guys have already seen the article right?" We all nodded at his question.

"Before we begin our discussion, I'd like to ask. Are any of you really dating him?" He raise his eyebrows as he scanned through us.

I raised my hand politely and admitted to him that I was dating Y/N. I didn't want to hide it as I love him very much.

"Ah i see....." He said as he took off his glasses and started wiping the lense.

"You see Winter, I don't actually mind that you're dating him but the fans are not satisfied with it and it's damaging the company" He explained to us. I felt relieved when he said he didn't mind.

"We are receiving threats on boycotting from the fans and that's not good for the company. So for now I suggest you to stay away from Y/N" He followed up making me clench my fist as I could only nod on his demand.

"We'll wait till the fans start to calm down and if they don't, we would have to send an official statement to the public. And I don't want that to happen" He shrugged his shoulders.

"Can't we just release a public statement that I'm officially dating Y/N?" I hesitantly asked him.

"I think you're not getting it Winter-ssi, you guys losing fans means that we're losing customers resulting in loss of money" He told me as I thought to myself how selfish he is.

"Look, just stay away from him for now. Good thing he's in a different country or else it would be more harder for me" The CEO said and laid back on his seat.

"Do you understand?" He asked and I could only nod once again.

"That's all, you guys can leave now" He dismissed us.

Our manager was trying to walk us out but was suddenly called by the CEO.

"You guys just wait outside for a moment. I need to have a short talk with your manager" The CEO spoke out.

We left his office and waited outside as instructed. I was holding up my anger and complained to the members how selfish the CEO was. The members agreed and comforted me.

Meanwhile in the office,

"You should keep an eye on Winter from now on. Make sure she doesn't even contact Y/N" The CEO told their manager.

"I'll try my best" Their manager bowed to him.

"If possible make them break up" The CEO heartlessly said making their manager shocked from the sudden change of his tone.

"B-but sir that's too hars-"

"I don't care! They've already caused too much trouble for me, I'm not risking any more loss for the company" The CEO exclaimed as their manager felt bad for Winter.

"Now leave" He instructed their manager and he could only bow to him and left his office.
            
             
Y/N POV

It has been days since the aespa girls contacted me. Our communications were cut off as they didn't reply on our group chat that we had together.

I was depressed knowing that I can't reach out to them anymore and soon shook it off, focusing more on my football career.

It has been 2 years since I've joined Napoli and there were news speculating that a team was interested in me and was willing to pay for a record breaking fee.

During my entire spell at Napoli, I have worked harder and trained like there was no tomorrow as the results payed off. I managed to break another record or records you may say. Some honourable mentions are, youngest player to win player of the year, broke the record for goals scored in a single season and even most player of the month in a single season.

I completely forgot about the existence of aespa after the life changing text that I received from their manager during the first few months that they ghosted me.

"Hello is this Y/N?" Their manager texted me out of nowhere when I haven't been in contact with the girls for months.

"Yes and you are??"

"I'm aespa's manager" He texted as it immediately jolted me.

"How are the girls? Why aren't they replying their messages? Did I do something wrong?" I bombarded him with questions.

"The girls recently changed their contact numbers" He said making me confused.

"And... How is Winter doing?" I nervously asked him.

"About that. I actually am contacting you right now to deliver a message to you from her"

"What is it?" I asked again.

"She wants to break up with you. She said that she was clueless with her feelings that time and made a stupid decision" He responded.

My heart felt heavy when I read the text. There's no way she said that and even if it's real why didn't she tell me that herself. I just stared at my phone lifelessly, can't even respond to the text.

"I guess that's all I have to deliver. Good luck on your future Y/N and thank you for your time" The manager texted and blocked my number immediately after, not giving me a chance to even ask for explanations.

From that day on onwards, I tried my best to not think about aespa and Winter specifically as I just focused on my career.

It was hard the first few days but it soon disappeared as I saw the girls looking happy and doing fine in their recent activities.

'I guess they don't really care that much about me' i thought to myself after watching their vlog on youtube. 'What am i thinking about. Why would they even care about me' I gaslighted myself.

Since then, I was left alone by them. I just hoped that they were happy with their lives right now.
