Lillia Clalib wasn't one to ever take anything for granted. Her parents were on holiday on the outer rim planet of Sorgan, on the premise of escaping all of the chaos of the war. Alderaan, their home planet, seemed calm for a mere moment, but seeing danger loom over the horizon, they decided to flee, and in right mind too. Soon after they fled, the whole of Alderaan was destroyed. Lillia wouldn't have been born until years later, in 8 ABY. She heard stories of the planet, and wished she had been around to see it before it was destroyed, and cherished every moment she had with her parents.
When Sorgan started to become hostile with raiders invading their home often, and with her father dying in defense, her and her mother decided to retreat to a spiritual village on Jakku, Tuanul, in the western reaches of the inner rim on 9 ABY on the invitation of an old family friend. Her father had fled the Jedi Order, but her mother was still fond of the light they were attempting to accomplish. Lillia was still very young by that point, so she didn't remember Sorgan very much, if at all. Her home was Jakku for as long as she could remember. This village was filled with mystics from the Church of the Force, but some of them knew how to fight well enough to ward off any malicious scavengers that meant to steal and invade.
But, there was something else intriguing about Lillia. Her father was a lesser-known Jedi, who left the order to start a family peacefully. He didn't want to risk him or his family getting killed, to his misfortune on Sorgan by raiders. He fought them alone, and there was simply too many of them.
By blood, she was able to use the force, but not very much at first. She had a specialty that their old family friend had said is quite rare for even a Jedi to wield as many times as she did in her youth and adulthood. She was able to project herself to other places while sleeping or meditating. She found out she had this rare trait while sleeping one night in her teenage years. She had projected outside and was watching the stars, but it felt like but a dream. This dream ended when another villager had seen her and told her to go back inside, escorted her inside, and they found her sleeping in her bed already. Another time she was in her room, and decided to test it when her mother asked her to help prepare their evening meal. She successfully projected to their dining area, much to her mothers surprise. None could wake her when she was in her sleep-like trance until she returned to her body.
She was quite mischievous with this power, however, as she would eavesdrop on important conversations without risk of being hurt, and before they could catch her in the act she would disappear. Her fellow villagers always knew that it was her, as they all found out eventually about her force-abilities. They admired it and respected it, as they hadn't any themselves. Even her mother didn't have any. But, their family friend, whose name was Lor San Tekka, had much knowledge about the force and was able to guide her, although he couldn't wield it himself. This strengthened her abilities, but they weren't as great as some that he had told her stories about, such as Luke Skywalker.
As she grew older, she also became proficient with the use of the blaster. Sometimes food was scarce, and she needed to venture into the populated cities, but getting there was quite difficult sometimes, and she had to walk as her village hadn't been too keen on technologies such as luggabeasts, as the scavengers methods on using them were inhumane. Although her village was fond of her abilities, San Tekka had warned that not everyone may be, so she needed another method of protecting herself in the instance of ambush on the path. Her mother hadn't been fond of her going on long journeys alone, but eventually understood that she could never stop her daughter's adventurous spirit, as she was the same when she was young.
They had lived generally the same day-to-day for years, but on the eve of Lilia's 26th birthday in 34 ABY, everything changed when a man arrived in their small village looking for her mentor, Lor San Tekka, and the knowledge he held.
