After All This Time

Aleah and Selene went to Honeydukes because she knows her child has a sweet tooth and knows she would like it so much. Upon arriving at the shop, Selene couldn't contain her excitement and rushed inside.

Aleah chuckled at the sight of her child's excitement, she quickened her pace and went inside, but her smile faded when she saw Severus, holding her child up.

"Mummy, it's Mister Snape.", Selene giggled.

Aleah looked at the two, Severus smiled at her child and turned his gaze to her. Seeing the two close together,the resemblance is undoubtedly present.

Both are smiling at her and she's stunned at what she's looking.

"Baby, you're too heavy for ups now. I'm sorry Professor", Aleah said and was about to get her child from his hold but he stepped back.

"She's not heavy Miss Black and i'll help her get the sweets she wants from the top shelf.", said Severus.

"You will?", Selene said and squealed.

"It's fine professor, we can manage.", said Aleah

"Let me, Aleah.", Severus said looking at her intently and that made her stop from her attempt of retrieving her child from his grasp.

"Let's look there, please Mister Snape" said Selene, pointing at the corner where the sweet candies are.

Severus went there still holding Selene, and Aleah was stunned by what is happening that she just followed them. She doesn't know how to turn Severus away.

Looking at them, Aleah once wished this to happen.

Selene put every sweets she wanted to try at the basket Severus is holding in his other hand.

Aleah looked at the basket and was shocked to see that it's too many for Selene and was beginning to get angry at Severus for letting her daughter just get whatever she wants.

"Selene, that is too much. Enough now.", said Aleah, with firmness in her tone.

Both Severus and Selene looked at Aleah and she was stunned by them again. She really needs to get her child away from Severus now.

"I'm sorry mummy." said Selene sadly and looked at Severus, "Can we put the others back Mister Snape? Mummy's right, it's too much now."

Severus looked at Selene who is now nibbling his fingers while looking down.

"It's fine Selene, i'll buy these all for you so that mummy won't be angry anymore. Don't be sad." Severus said in a slow and calming tone. Selene looked at Severus again and cheered up.

"Thank you Mister Snape!" said Selene and hugged Severus.

Feeling Selene's hug awoke something inside Severus, he could feel it and won't deny it so he leaned in to Selene to meet her hug.

Aleah is now angry, especially at Severus but don't want to do it in front of her child.

Severus put Selene down and they went to pay for the treats. Selene rushed to the counter and Severus was about to follow when Aleah suddenly grabbed his hand making him stop and Severus looked back at her.

"I am capable of paying for my child's wants. Please leave us.", she said. Severus looked at her hand on his shoulders, and back to her eyes again, but Severus just ignored her request and went to Selene.

The shop owner gave the bag to Selene and she turned to Severus holding his hand, "Thank you Mister! I'm so happy."

Severus smiled at Selene.

"Let's go back to the castle Selene.", said Aleah and grabbed her tiny hand away from Severus.

"Mummy I thought we're gonna get ice cream?", Selene said, looking at her mummy with sadness slowly showing on her face.

Aleah looked at her child and was about to take back what she said when Severus interrupted her, "Miss Black, if I may—"

"Thank you Professor, but we must be going now.", Aleah quickly interrupted him.

"Mummy?"

"I said no Selene!" Aleah said raising her voice.

Selene removed her hands from her mother's grip and quickly stormed out.

Aleah was shocked by what she just did to her child, she never raises her voice at her and turned to look at Severus, anger is what she is feeling for him right now, but she calmly said,

"Get away from her. She's not your business."
