Peter said his goodbyes, leaving the apartment in a hurry. He's lucky his aunt has good insurance over the Deli or they'd be in some serious debt.

"Mrs. Morales, aren't you going to be—"

"Ah, siéntate. Don't worry about that, ¿de acuerdo?"
Rio snapped her fingers towards the kitchen table, signaling her to sit down. Jazmin had slid her boots off, placing them onto the mat. Snow melted onto the mat, tracing a damp blob of water around her boots.

She walked towards the small dining room as she analyzed the home, taking note of the framed photos that were nailed into the wall. There were two people in the photo.. then three.
She figured that the third person was Mile's father. There was a lot of good things said about him.. that's gotta be so hard to let go.

Jazmin pulled a chair from under the table, letting it scrape against the ground. She slid her coat off as a few glass shards fell onto the ground; they were stuck in her coat still.

A door slowly creaked open, footsteps following. There, a boy peeked into the doorframe, looking directly at you. His gaze lingered, eying the small wounds and glass on the floor.

Miles. He had those two braids and really defined cheek bones. Bags laid under his brown eyes as if he just woke up.
Jazmin gave him a small wave, a soft smile on her cheeks. If she was in their home then it'd be more than respectful to actually greet who lives here.

Miles stared for a little longer before walking off to Rio.

"I thought you were going to work right now?"

"Willis' daughter came in all wounded with some boy. I couldn't just let her stay injured. Do you know there the med kit is?"
Rio rummaged through drawers looking for the kit. Her eyes didn't look at Miles' once.

He simply nodded and walked to the bathroom, grabbing the kit from out of the mirror cabinet.
A part of him felt a little upset that she'd probably have to take the shift late tonight then, he was hoping she could finally get her sleep but the neighbor just had to ruin it.. but then, another part of him couldn't help but be proud of his ma for doing the right thing.

He walked back to Rio with the kit, putting it in her hands. She softly smiled at him, looking into his eyes. What stared back were a dull brown color mixing into a void of hurt.
Rio gave him a peck on the cheek and began walking to the dining room,
"Gracias, Miles."
