Asher's pov-

What the fuck have I done!?

It's my fault my baby sister is in there dead or alive i don't know!? Why did I have to do that to her!?

3rd person's pov-

Damon was in the fire exit , smoking to calm his nerves down. He couldn't think straight. He was mad at Asher for treating Naira like garbage but also on himself for not noticing sooner and saying something about it.

Maria and Mila were beyond confused as this wasn't their plan.

Asher couldn't stop blaming himself and crying.

Damon stepped out of the exit with a partially sane mind.
That's when a ball rolled towards its feet , and a little girl came to pick it up.

She looked at Damon and smiled.
"Hewwo big man" she said happily.

Damon just looked at her.

"Do you no speak?" She asked confused.
It brought Damon out of the trance he was in.

"Oh what? Where are your parents little one?" He asked.

"Daddy is gone to bwing goodies and mommy is in there" she pointed to the ICU.

"Oh..um okay. What's your name?" Damon asked.

"Emmy!" The little girl chirped.

"Okay Emmy , please sit there and wait for your dad I-I gotta go" Damon said still shook at the incident that happened earlier.

"Can you stay with Emmy?" She asked looking up at Damon now gripping his gray sweatpants in her little fists.

"I um.." Damon was about to say no but he knew he has to calm down before meeting Asher else he'll do something he'll regret.
"Okay" he completed.

"What is your name bubba?" Emmy asked.

"Damon" Damon replied with a smile that was forced. He couldn't smile at that moment but wanted the time he spent with Emmy to be nice for her.

"Dayday!" Emmy giggled again.

The nickname caused Damon to laugh.

"Do u Fink mommy will be good?" Emmy asked.

"Oh yeah! Definitely little one. She would be good and well with you really soon" Damon said.

"Yes! Daddy said that we have to do all for people we love to keep them with us" Emmy said "so Emmy did her homework and picked her toys!" She chirped again.

"Awh that's so nice , your mom will be so proud of you little one" Damon told Emmy.

"Oh daddy!" Emmy pointed behind Damon.
There stood a kind looking man which Emmy ran to and made Damon talk to. He was nice. They made small talk and then left.

Leaving Damon in deep thought.

"To do anything for the people we love to make them stay with us?" Damon thought.

"I'll do anything for Naira! Fucking anything!" Damon screamed in the now empty corridor.

Damon was in deep thought when Asher called.

"Naira's up" was all Asher had to say to make Damon run to her room.

Naira's pov-

I woke up with a blur in my eyes and was trying to figure out where the hell am I? Is this!? This is the place I hate the most! Fuck! Why am I here!?

I see some long thing stuck to me and various other things that looked like pipes?

Oh..i remember what happened.
Bubby spanked me or hit me to be precise , his belt hit my thigh from the back and my lower back. Why did he do this? He has never done it..he used to talk to me before ever giving a punishment..he used to explain what I did wrong and why I shouldn't do it. Oh yeah he's not my brother anymore..he's now just Maria's 'daddy' and Mila's boyfriend..*sigh* the thought alone makes me tear up.

I suddenly felt someone grab my hand..it was Asher. He hugged me so tight *wow I was a bit shocked..it..it's been a while since he's hugged me.* like it was the only thing keeping him together. I wanted to hug him really bad too but the freaking cables were stopping me from doing so.

He whispered an "I'm sorry" whilst hugging me. I couldn't stop myself and broke down in his arms. All the things came crashing down to me like it was our last hug.

That's when I saw Damon barging from the door but I couldn't stop myself from crying.

Damon came beside me held my hand in both his hands.
Damon never cries..than why are his eyes glistening?.

Ash continued to apologise but my mouth was too dry to reply I just buried my face in his chest and cried.

"Ash , calm down please" Damon said.
After a while Asher left me and sat beside me as I drank the glass of water kept on the table next to me.

"H..how'd you feel kid?" Asher asked.
"Okay" i replied.

"I..I'm sorry" I choked out again.

Asher was about to say something when Damon interrupted him "you don't have anything to be sorry for doll. Asher was in the wrong here." As he gave a stern look to Ash who looked so fucking guilty.

"I..it's okay" I said.

"No it is not kid! I'm here to protect you not freaking hurt you" he said loudly"I'm supposed to protect you" he whispered.

"I'm sleepy" I was tired and didn't know why.

"It's the medicines..go to sleep" Damon said.

I heard Asher say something but didn't have enough energy to react. It sounded like "dad is coming back home"
