I wake up the next morning to my phone ringing. I blinked myself awake and see that Harry was asleep, arms still around me.
I separated from him a bit to get my phone. Without checking who it was, I answered, "Hello?"
"Hello, this is London General Hospital. I'm calling to let you know that Harry Styles's test results are ready."
"Oh, oh, um should we come back to the hospital or were you gonna tell me now?"
"You should come back to the hospital. When would you like your appointment?"
"Um," I looked over at the alarm clock to see the time as 10:05. "Is 11:00 okay?"
"Sure, 11 o'clock is perfect."
"Alright. Bye." I hung up the phone and looked at Harry. He didn't look too miserable but I could tell he wasn't feeling the best.
I leaned down to kiss his forehead, "Hazza, wake up darling." I laid a hand to his cheek and spoke again, "Come on, we gotta get up."
Harry whines. "But I'm sleepy."
I chuckle softly. "I know, but we've got somewhere to be in less than an hour."
Harry cracks his eyes open. "Where?"
"The hospital called. They have your test results and your appointment is at 11:00," I told him.
Harry frowns and turns back over.
I smile sympathetically, "I know you don't want to, but we have to."
"Why can't we just let it happen?"
I furrow my eyebrows, "What do you mean?"
"Why do we have to know? Is there anything that we can do anyway?"
"They might have you do chemotherapy or have surgery. I don't know. Maybe they can help."
Harry frowns, sitting up. "Okay..."
"I'll get your clothes so you can change," I say, going to the closet to pick out clothes for both of us.
While I change, I watch Harry closely to make sure he's okay. Once we're both changed and have brushed our teeth, I give him his crutches so he can get down the steps. I get his wheelchair and ask, "You ready to go?"
Harry nods. "As ready as I can be."
I nod and help him get to the car.
Once we arrive at the hospital, I help him into his wheelchair and check in with the lady up front.
"You okay?" I ask once I sit down in a chair.
Harry shrugs. "I guess so."
I give him a tight smile and rub his thigh soothingly.
Harry lays his head on my shoulder. "I don't want it to be bad."
I put my chin on top of his head. "I know. I don't either," I sigh.
Harry leans into me. "Are you gonna stay?"
"Of course. Where else would I be?"
"I don't know. I could go back and live with mom."
I take his hand in mine. "No. I'm not leaving you," I stated.
Harry looks at me with sad eyes. "Promise?"
"I promise," I say and kiss the back of his hand.
Harry leans into it. "I love you. I'm sorry."
I shake my head, "Hey, none of that. You don't have to be sorry. I love you, okay? No more apologies."
