Alyssa had a simple life and lived by a no drama rule. Growing up in Texas on a ranch caring for animals shaped her passion to become a vet. She wasn't a shy girl but neither popular. Not like her big brother anyways. Everyone knew she was Jake's little sister and not to mess with her. She always voiced her opinions and this drove Kaden, her brother's best friend insane. The three have always been friends, having sleepovers, going on trips together and annoying each other. But when she got to high school, Kaden started to dislike her. When she hanged out with her brother, Kaden would ignore her and make snarky comments. Jake never seemed to tell him off and thats when she started to stay away from them. She got her own friends and made the most of her high school years. Life was simple but was about to change when she moved to New York for college.

"Mom please don't cry" She said with a sniffle and tear rolling down her own cheek. "My baby girl is all grown up". Alyssa's heart ached as she said goodbye to her parents. "Mom, I'm going to be fine, it's not like I'm leaving forever you know". She looked at her dad, who seemed awfully quiet. "Dad, are you okay?" He looked at her and couldn't help but smile, "Lys, I am so proud of you". She grabbed both of them in a tight hug, not wanting to say goodbye but she had to.

This was the beginning of her dream, the one she always wanted to follow. She had her life planned out, go to Cornell University, become a vet and help all the animals in need.

"You guys don't have to worry about me, I'm only a phone call away and I promise to come and visit" Her mom started to sniffle once again. "Kathy, at least she isn't alone, Jake is here too". My lovely brother, or the golden boy as everyone knew him, but he was the devil himself. Don't get me wrong, I love my brother but man was he a player and a dick sometimes. "Speaking of him, where is he?" Her mom said in an angry tone. "He was suppose to meet as here at 10 and it's already past 11". "Probably passed out in some girl's bed with a massive hangover" she scoffed and her parents eyed her over. "Alyssa Cooper! That is no way to speak about your-". "Sorry I'm late...I had a meeting with...the dean" Jake cut her off as he was catching his breath. Before our parents could ask him why he was yet again in the dean's office, he grabbed me in a tight hug and whispered something in the line of "welcome to the best fucking years of your life".

Heyy this is just to give you a background and an introduction to the story. This is not a ranch girl type of story, that's only included to give background to why she wanted to become a vet. Also I am not giving her a Texas accent because im not from there and im not going to butcher it. Phew. Hope you enjoy the story.
