This week's matches are potentially gonna kick my ass. I wrap my hands in hand wrap standing up and walking over to my punching bag.
Before I can even take a hit, my trainer calls me over I'm guessing to go over upcoming matches.
"What's up Matt?" I groan unhappily.
Matt Harris, the man who pushes me to my limits everyday and confidently still manages to gaslight me after all these years he's trained me. Meeting Matt had to be the greatest thing that's happened to me, not to sound soft.
"No time for your little boy attitude Scott, I need you to go get in the rink for a practice match with Acer as soon as possible."
"But Matt I- me and Acer don't have no experience with going against each other, it could be bad." I try to push away his demands.
"That's exactly what you need son." He pauses and rests his hand in my shoulder.
"Ares, you are one of my strongest men in the arena. I need you to win these matches, not only would it be beneficial to you, but to the name of Rebel."
Ah yes the Rebel, the one and only powerful name of this boxing Arena. Some man came up with the name for it around the 90's and it's stayed that way in honor of his passing. Matt now becoming the owner of the Arena just left it alone.
I take in his words my lips pursing together, what he said made sense. Matt's been my trainer since I was a freshman, me and him have come a long way.
"Alright, I'll give it a try. But if I put Acer in the hospital, don't say I didn't warn you." I try to push him with a darken in my eyes and a dirty smirk.
He just chuckles patting my back as I make my way to the rink.
Following his demands I slide underneath the rink seeing a 6'0 dark headed male make his way into the ring.
Pushing in his mouth guard and tightening his boxing gloves he gives a wave then squaring up in que that he's ready.
I see Matt at the side with his arms cross and finger pulled across his lip waiting for us to begin, "Alright boys, go ahead."
Squaring up I bite down on my mouth guard and try to push Acers buttons to make him swing on me, after a few tries he finally gives in throwing a hard shot at my arm. I block his arm then taking him up top and dropping him hard on the ground.
He pulls up and squares up again this time I guess my blockage was too late, taking a free couple of shots at my chest he then throws a couple of more swings.
I could feel my body start to get heated. I pull him from underneath when he tried to throw another body shot.
Throwing him back onto the ring floor, He tries to get up but I put my strength in him. I could tell his now weakened body was about to give out.
