"Theres a place I know. If your looking for a show. Where they go hardcore, and there's glitter on the floor.."
The music pulsed through my veins, causing my body to move, rubbing against all the bodies around me. The sounds of high pitched laughter vibrated against the walls. 'Madz, come on!! Derrek's handing out shots.' Rachel tugged on my arm. Together, arm in arm, we headed towards the lounge where the jocks had crowded around their tall blond idol.
As soon as we were in sight the crowd parted, making way for us. 'The person who drinks the most shots gets to decide what dare everyone has to do!!' Colin's smug laughter was palapable over the rowdy noise.
'Please. We all know that your going to win.' Rachel stuck her tongue out at him.
'Naah not this time. Cole isn't gonna be in it.' Derrek thumped Colin on the back. 'Right mate?!' We all laughed, enjoying the disappointment written all over his face.
'Maybe not this time.' He shrugged.
Taking a hold of my arm, Derrek pushed me down, making me sit on his lap.
'Heey, no touching the competition' I smiled.
'You know you like it.' Winking at me, he seemed at ease which was rare for him.
Turning to Colin he said, 'hand em out and count to 3' Rachel took the spot next to me, making sure to be snuggled between Adam and I. The two had been in an off and on relationship for a year now.
'Okay everybody! 1, 2....3!!'
The bitter taste of tequila burned my throat for a split second but I was already reaching out for thr next one. Four shots later, Rachel gasped unable to continue. A crowd of people had surrounded the 5 of us, cheering on. I grinned at Colin, 'Refill.'
'Are you sure about that gorgous' Derrek smirked.
'Just prepare yourself to lose' Giggling, I tilted my head up, admiring the way his curly hair flopped over.
'You wish you could beat me,' he whispered in my ear.
Another three shots later and it was clear that the rest of the guys had given up. Adam squinted, 'since when could you hold down so much liquor?' Laughing I enigmatically replied, 'wouldn't you like to know?.'
'And the winner is... Madison Parker!!!!' Colin's voice boomed through the onlookers. Smirking at Derrek I said, 'Seems like your the one whose going to be doing the wishing.'
'Madz make the guys strip!!' Ariana called out.
'No dare the boys to trash the principal's house!!' Somebody else screamed. Rachel nudged me, indicating to stand up. She muttered softly, 'make them do something humiliating.'
'Hell no I know that look in your eyes.'
'Don't be a sore loser Derrek', I teased him. Smiling evily I pronounced, 'For the next two weeks the boys aren't allowed to have sex and they have to wear girly tshirts to school.'
'WOOOO!!!' The girls high-fived each other. Colin laughed, 'Thank God you's made me not play!'
'Watch. We're sooo getting you back for this!!' Christopher warned, slumping over the couch.
'Dont worry Chris, we can always have foreplay' some random slut tried comforting him.
'Eew, please, the only thing you can always have is STD.' Ariana wrinkled her nose. The slut glared, turning red as everyone laughed.
'And whoever doesn't do it will be forced to go to Ms.Carrie and claim their undenying love for her." This got more hollers from the crowd, as they thought about our over-sized libarian who wore bandanas and penny loafers to school.
Wrapping his arm around my shoulders, Derrek lead me back to the dancefloor.
'You always know how to keep everyone on their toes' He pulled me closer as the music turned up. Swaying from side to side, I remembered that he was only here to protect me. 'Well, it is my party.' 'Hey,' he drew me towards him, even closer than before.
'Im not gonna let anyone touch you. Forget the past just this once and have fun.'
'Fun. Sure why not' The sarcasm didn't go unnoticed by him as he regarded me increduosly. I leaned my head against his shoulder, attempting to seek some comfort.
'Not like I have any parents to tell me off about the house being trashed.'
He rubbed my back soothingly. 'Your dad loves you... he's just giving you space like you wanted him to.'
'That doesnt change anything. The one time I needed him and he wasn't even there. I hate it!' My voice rose, in anger at Derrek for bringing this up.
'Im sorry Madz. But I do know that everyone here can't get enough of you.' Just like that, my mood vanished and I smiled up at him, knowing it was what he wanted.
'Thanks. I aim to please.'
My eyes involuntarily closed, the hours of dancing getting to my body. Noticing, Derrek pulled me off the dancefloor saying, 'come on, lets get you to bed.' He picked me up bridal style and walked up the stairs.
'I Love you Derrek.' I murmured, appreciating how he always put up with my bipolar personality.
'Love you too Madz.'
On seeing us leave, Rachel followed behind and once we reached my room, she crashed on my bed. Derrek covered the two of us, kissing my forehead before heading out the door, closing it softly behind him.
I smiled in bliss, happy that the party had taken my mind off things for the day. My eyes drooped and in minutes I had dozed off.
