The slight gasp that escaped my lips was enough to express how shocked I was.
'What?! Chris never mentioned having any siblings!!'
'That's because I don't have any.'
The four of us turned in sync to see Chris leaning against the wall, arms folded across his chest, with a pissed off face expression.
The first to react was Rachel. Glaring at Chris for the disdain in his voice, she tugged Jordan by the arm, dragging him into the kitchen.
'So what's going on?' Derrek asked walking to the lounge.
Chris turned the volume of the tv up so his voice couldn't be heard from afar.
'That bastard thinks he can just waltz back into my life after two years!' Agitation radiated off Chris' body, causing Derrek and I to exchange worried glances.
I leaned foward, placing my hand on his arm. Using a comforting tone I said, 'Hey, you don't have to explain if you don't want to.'
Chris exhaled, his anger reducing. 'Well our whole school knows him. You'll find out by tomorrow.'
'So... Is Jordan really related to you?' Derrek asked hesitantly, afraid that Chris would get angry again.
'Unfortunately. He's a bastard. The product of my mum fucking my dad's boss. I was only 1, and instead of looking after me like a normal mother, she was off having sex behind my dad's back. And then she picks him over me to raise!' Chris was ranting, his fists clenched to stop himself from throwing a punch.
'Chris I'm so sorry.' I hugged him tightly, wishing I could do something to ease his pain. But I knew it wasn't as simple as that, having gone through family shit myself.
He leaned into me, trying to control all the emotions within him.
'After he left, my life was peaceful. And then the two of you transeferred here, making it even better. But now his back...'
Chris' voice trailed off, in deep thought. Before either Derrek or I could respond, a loud knock echoed from the front door. Chris pulled back and without another word left to go answer it.
'I can't believe it. All this time he had a half brother.' Derrek spectaculated, processing all the information we had just heard.
'He clearly hates Jordan. No wonder he never bothered mentioning a sibling.' I responded.
'Yeah but why would he hate Jordan that much?! Chris isn't petty enough to hate him when it was his mum who caused the problem.' Derrek was on a roll, trying to figure out all the motives and misgivings to use at his advantage.
'Word on the street is, the two of you still haven't formally met Jordan yet.' Josh entered, followed by Adam and Colin.
Deciding to take advantage that Chris wasn't in the room I quickly asked, 'is he a bad guy? Do yous' like him?!'
The three of them stared at me for a minute, before doubling over with laughter.
'Jordan? Bad?!' Adam managed to say in between laughing. I noticed that they had slyly ignored my second question.
'Why don't we introduce the both of you to him and you can decide for youself?!' Colin smirked, amused by this idea.
'Sorry Madz this dude is as good as a fuking priest.' Adam was still laughing.
Before any of us got the chance to move, Jordan himself walked in with Rachel behind. Adam moved foward, giving Jordan a man hug.
'Fuck. I can't believe your really back.' Colin and Josh also got up, greeting Jordan with a warm welcome. 'Glad your back buddy.'
