"Wait, what?!" My heart races. "Don't hurt anyone, Tide!"

"You're cute when you're panicked." He coos.

"What the--Ugh-!" I groan, squirming as he gets closer. "Get away from me--!" I shout.

"Not just yet, greenie." He smirks, grabbing my chin gently. I can feel myself getting hot.

"Don't touch me!" I get my hand out, struggling to grab anything natural so I can get him away from me until-

"It's okay, greenie. You're not the one being killed, after all. You never were." His face drops. "Remember?"

"What?" I rest my hand. "What are you talking about?"

"You know what I'm talking about." He grits his teeth, staring into my eyes. "Don't act like you don't know! You do know! I know you do! Don't be stupid, you fucking--ugh!"

"I really don't." I say, my brow furrowed. "Please, Tide, I'm sorry for whatever I did. Don't do this.

"When you left me to die in my burning village."

"Wait, what?" I turn pale. Who are you..?

"You remember. I know you do." I can't see his face anymore. He's looking away. Please. Look at me. I'm begging you, look at me. I'm sorry.

"What..?" I whisper.

I can hear his voice tremble. "I guess you really don't remember."

"I'm sorry. Please, just give me a reminder, something-"

"Save it!" He cuts me off, punching me in the face.

"Ow! Stop!" I plead. "Please, just tell me who you--!"

"No! There was no reason for you to just.. abandon me like that! You didn't care, and you still don't! You keep trying to.. to manipulate me with your stupid lies! I don't care that you don't remember, I will make you remember! The last thing you see before you die will be my face, I will engrave myself into your last moments so you NEVER forget what you did to--" He takes a sharp breath in, his face pale. He looks at the back of his hand and there's a thorn in it. He realizes that i've been out and free this whole time. I wrap him in vines, pulling him towards me.

"I'm not dying today, and neither are you." I grab his face. "Please, go home."

"Just kill me!" He screams.

"No! I can't kill you, it's not right!"

"You know you want to!"

"That's not true!"

"Then leave! Leave me to die like you once did before!"

"No, I won't."

"You keep saying that! Just let me die!"

"No!" I shout.

We hover there in silence for what feels like hours.

"Fine. Let me go."

"I'm bringing you to the ocean, far away. That's your hometown, isn't it?"

"Ha-ha. Funny." He isn't amused, so I cut it with the jokes.

"Goodbye, for now." I say, lowering him down to the ground.

"Uh-huh." I let him go, and he dives into the ocean.
