"Eighteen..." Napaisip ako, I checked my calendar and it also says March 14 2023. Napatalon ako ng marinig ko ang pintuan na bumukas
"Gulat na gulat ka diyan, ano iniisip mo." I looked at her with confused eyes, This is my sister and she's supposed to be living with his husband already, Bat pa siya andito?
"alam ko yang tingin mo." My eyes went wide.
"well, alam mo naman yung situation natin ngayon... Hindi pa kayo pwede mag meet pero..." ha? ano raw? Ano ba to, naguguluhan na ako, totoo bang nasa 2023 ako? Pero impossible yan na mangyari kasi nga I'm with him kani-kanina lang and now...
She handed me a bouquet of pink tulips.
"taray ha, yung akin kasi roses lang. Sayo tulips ha." Nalilito pa rin ako, i didn't want to believe that I'm 18 again, When i was 18 dito ko narealize what the real world is.
"hindi na nakakatuwa. Kung joke to okay sige, napaniwala niyo ako."
she looked at me with a confused face
"baliw ka, anong joke?" i groaned, feeling frustrated. Lumabas ako ng kwarto to see na maraming tao, and nakalagay na 18 sa dingding. I stared at it. Hindi ko maalala na nangyari to dati. I rushed back to my room and saw my sister wasn't there but i realized, iba yung itsura nung kwarto.
i sat at the edge of my bed, thinking why this place seems so familiar, this is not my house, nasaan ako... Just then while i was thinking a knock on the door occurred
"farah, it's me." i almost jumped when i heard his voice. A few seconds later he entered, holding the same bouquet my sister handed me earlier.
"George! Bawal ka dito ah! Paano ka napasok?" He looked at me confused.
"ha?" "Nasa bahay ka ng jowa ni ate remember?" huh? I looked at him with a confused face, he sat beside me while i roamed my eyes around the room. Finally, i got a chance to take a proper look at where I am.
i realized, he was right. This is Kuya Aldrich's house.
"naalala mo na?" he looked at me with concern, he handed me a glass of water to help me calm down
"I'm confused..." i whispered enough for him to hear
"about what, my ali?" lord patigilin mo na to, mamatay ako ng wala sa oras eh
"wala wala, don't mind me." I turned around making him face my back, hindi niya pwedeng malaman na kinikilig ako. Farah kalma ka lang please, tandaan mo baka prank lang to. Farah, bawal magbaba ng pride, bawal marupok!
he held my hand gently and massaged it. I heard my phone ringing but he stopped me.
"my president is busy, pwede bang bukas niyo na siya tawagan? It's her birthday, give her a break." Farah, bawal kiligin okay? Farah, kalma please lang.
as far as i can remember, i was the president of the HUMSS society club in our school, and parang kahit minsan ay hindi na rin ako nakakapagpahinga dahil, It's our strand day next next week, kaya super busy.
"Geo, okay lang naman. It's my responsibility-"
"Geo...? Have i done something wrong my ali?" he pouted. I slapped him lightly
"hindi ako sanay makita na nagpapacute ka sakin ulit. You're always nagging that I'm always busy in the office na-" He gave me a light peck to stop me from speaking. Lord give me strength! Parang awa niyo na, hindi ko na kakayanin to. Please send sos!
he pinched my cheeks. "you're so cute, i love you so much farah." he stood up. He was about to go to the door but he went back and kissed me. He broke the kiss and stared with me for a few seconds.
"the tulips are 18, baka hindi ako pumunta mamaya sa party, andoon sila tita... Let's go out sometimes, i promise you... Lalabas tayo after this, it's my treat."
It's already 5pm and my party is about to begin, i saw some of my close friends and classmates. I heard this party was closed just for close relatives, friends, family. I searched for Geo but I can't find him anywhere. I guess he was right, Hindi siya pupunta dito kasi it might cause a mess and i know him. He doesn't want to cause a fight, kaya siya nalang yung lalayo.
"sure ba kayong 2023 to." I asked my friend, She nodded
"gaga oo nga oh! Tamo!" she showed me a calendar
"kanina ka pa daw tanong ng taong kung 2023 ba talaga sabi ni ate, may nangyari ba?" i shooked my head. Nabobother parin ako, feeling ko kasi hindi talaga 2023 eh
"Let's have a moment with our debutante as she says her message to everyone." the MC handed me the mic, Nanginginig ako kasi hindi ko maalala ano sinabi ko nung gabing to back in the day. This is unusual for me kasi sanay ako maghawak and magsalita sa harap ng maraming tao but why am i shaking as if may yumuyugyog saakin?
"i... uh...." sinusubukan ko magsalita pero there's no words coming out of my mouth. I looked around hoping that he would come and calm me down. My breathing became heavy, my vision are blurry, pakiramdam ko ay babagsak na ako anytime, until my eyes shut down and faint voices are the things i only hear
"Excuse me, wag niyong pagsiksikan yung debutante." i heard someone scream. I tried my best to look kung sino yun. Even though blurry yung paningin ko i know that it's geo.
"ali?" my voice was faint
"farah, wag kang pipikit. Please." he was shaking me
"I'm sleepy." I could feel my eyes shut as he panicked even more.
