As I left my class and made my way to the bus station, I spotted James standing there, engrossed in his classical music. Remembering his request for space, I decided to ignore him and rolled my eyes as I passed by. I positioned myself close to him but not too close, intending to keep my distance. He said something, but I chose to disregard it, entering the bus instead. To my surprise, he followed and took a seat beside me.
Letting out a snort of amusement, I sarcastically remarked, "Okay, lol." James remained calm and quiet, not saying anything in response. Lost in my thoughts, I unintentionally drifted off to sleep, eventually leaning against his shoulder without realizing it.
James' POV:
I couldn't understand why I was acting this way. I didn't even find her particularly attractive or anything, so why was I behaving differently around her? And when she fell asleep on my shoulder, a strange fluttering sensation stirred in my stomach, and I could feel a blush creeping onto my cheeks.
As her stop approached, I made a noise, hoping to gently wake her up. Confusion and a slight sense of embarrassment washed over me as I pondered how to rouse her. I decided to push her gently, but unfortunately, due to the bus's sudden movement, my push became stronger than intended, causing her to hit her head. "Fuck," I muttered under my breath, feeling a surge of regret.
Anushka's POV:
I woke up abruptly, feeling a sharp pain in my head. Confusion clouded my mind as I realized James was sitting beside me. Before I could fully comprehend what had happened, I noticed that the bus was about to pass my stop. In a panic, I hurriedly got up, nearly stumbling in the process. I heard James giggle, which only added to my frustration. Turning to glare at him, I dashed out of the bus, determined not to let him see me flustered.
As I stepped off the bus, I received a text notification on my phone. It was from James, and he had sent a wink emoji. I glanced at it, feeling a mix of amusement and annoyance. Rolling my eyes with a slight smile, I continued walking back home.
Completing my work later in the evening, around 8 o'clock, I received a text from Dominic. Realizing that we had planned to meet, I hastily changed into something comfortable and left to meet him. I spotted him near the café where we had agreed to meet, and I rushed over, offering my apologies for being late. He seemed genuinely happy to see me, and we proceeded to order our food.
During our conversation, Dominic opened up about his family and life in Paris. It became evident that he had enjoyed a relatively easy and comfortable life. However, his comment about money being able to win a girl's heart took me aback. I knew he wasn't entirely wrong, but I hadn't expected him to have that mindset. Setting that aside, we had a pleasant dinner together.
Afterwards, as we strolled through the park, out of nowhere, Dominic reached out and held my hand. I was taken aback by his gesture but quietly took his hand, feeling a blush creeping onto my cheeks. We found a bench and sat together, enveloped in a comfortable silence. Breaking the quietude, I mustered the courage to ask, "Did you enjoy today?" Dominic looked at me with a slight blush and flustered expression, admitting, "I haven't felt like this in a while." I hummed in response, and we sat there, content in the silence.
As he walked me to the bus stop, our hands still entwined, a moment of tension hung in the air. Slowly, Dominic gently placed his hand on my cheeks, causing a blush to spread across my face. With a small and beautiful smile, he leaned in and planted a tender kiss on my lips, his touch lingering for a moment. Then, he bid me farewell and left. Shocked by the unexpected gesture, I sat on a bench, trying to process what had just happened, as I waited for the bus to arrive.
