Filled with a sense of urgency and a desire to make things right, I entered the school determined to find James and apologize for everything that had transpired. Without wasting a moment, I made my way to the rooftop, as it was the place where I often found him. I hurriedly ascended the stairs, aware that I had a class to attend in just ten minutes.

As I reached the rooftop, my eyes scanned the area, but James was nowhere to be found. Disappointed, I let out a sigh and turned to leave. However, just as I was about to walk away, I accidentally collided with Dominic. His expression was devoid of any emotion, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt deep within me. I knew I had hurt him with my actions, and it weighed heavily on my conscience.

Though I wanted to say something, I couldn't find the right words at that moment. Silently, I acknowledged him and quickly left, heading to my class.

As I sat through my classes, a feeling of profound loneliness enveloped me. The realization that I had lost two important people in my life, Elinia and Dominic, weighed heavily on my heart. With Dominic, our relationship had grown beyond friendship, and the complications surrounding James only added to my confusion and sadness.

As the school day came to an end, I hurriedly made my way to the bus stand. My mother had mentioned a surprise waiting for me at home, and I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil of my emotions. However, just as I was about to board the bus, I stumbled upon Elinia and Dominic once again.

My heart sank as I saw the anguish in Dominic's eyes, tears welling up. I wanted to approach him, to offer comfort and support, but Elinia, with a smirk on her face, pulled him closer, taking on the role of his consoler. Seeing him find solace in her presence only deepened the pain within me.

Fighting back the tears threatening to spill, I composed myself and stepped onto the bus. The ride home was filled with a heavy silence, as I tried to make sense of the shifting dynamics of my friendships and the emotions swirling within me.

Feeling upset and emotionally drained, I entered the living room, only to be greeted by the delightful aroma of delicious dishes. Confused yet intrigued, I couldn't help but inquire about my mother's surprise. With a gentle smile, she hinted that someone special was coming over, piquing my curiosity even more.

I quickly retreated to my room to freshen up, taking a moment to compose myself. Before heading back downstairs, a thought struck me, and I decided to text James, hoping that we could have a conversation and find some clarity amidst the chaos of my emotions. I anxiously awaited his response, hoping that he would be open to talking.

As I made my way back to the living room, a mixture of anticipation and nervousness filled my being.

As I entered the living room, my eyes widened in surprise and delight as I saw my best friend standing there. It had been three long years since we last met, and I couldn't contain my excitement as I ran towards her, enveloping her in a tight hug. She looked just as beautiful as ever, and seeing her brought back a flood of happy memories.

We sat down, enjoying a delicious meal while catching up on each other's lives. She shared that she had recently moved to the UK and would now be attending the same school as me. The realization that I would no longer feel lonely, having my best friend by my side, filled my heart with joy and anticipation for the future.

As our dinner came to an end, we bid our goodbyes, cherishing the precious time we had spent together. She left with her family, but the knowledge that we would be reunited at school the next day brought a sense of excitement and comfort.

Returning to my room, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment as I opened my phone to find that James had left my message on "delivered." Although annoyed, I didn't want to let it dampen my spirits. Determined to stay positive, I decided to focus on some school work, looking forward to the day ahead when I would reunite with my best friend, Shreya.
