Okay so this is not going to sound very good and rlly political ig
If you don't want to hear about homophobia or racism and is uncomfortable about this topic I advise you to skip this politely!
This is going to be a long one too.
Thanks.

Today maybe like 20 minutes ago by now
My half brother or I should just say brother

he came in me an my little sister's room.
He didn't do anything dirty.
Honest.

He just said something very offensive that I didn't like.
I think he was asking my sister for cards?
I'm not sure what he wanted but it was something for his game cards.

While asking he then shouts out the f-slur.
For obvious reasons I'm not going to use that slur mainly because that word doesn't belong to me and I have no right using it.
So I'm just listening to music on my school
chromebook as usual.

The songs I was listening to was "Sonne"
by Rammstein and "I don't wanna be me"
by typonegative.

So my brother comes in opening the door aggressively and loudly asks my sister for his cards.

And here is where he shouts
".. F- ass chino boys"

Hearing that was very upsetting because he literally said a slur that is against the LGBTQ community and most of my friends are queer.

So he is basically offending them and a whole group of people already struggling with their lives and rights all because people care so much about what others like and what they identify.

It's stupid.

He was talking about the kpop band my little sister likes to listen to,
Stray kids.

If you don't know StrayKids are a kpop band under a Korean label "JYP Entertainment" and the members are also South Korean with two members who are from Australia but are also South Korean. Making them fluent in both English and Korean. There is also this other member in the group who can also speak english fluently because he lived in Virginia for a while and studied the language.

There's some information about the group she likes.
Btw I don't frequently listen to stray kids but I just wanted to put some more context here.

He called them "chino" (Chinese in Spanish) just to point out they are Asian.
This is offensive because he's assuming they are from China just cuz their asians.
That's like calling a person a Mexican without knowing.
Just cause they look Mexican to you.
You can't just assume that cuz people come from different places.
You don't know if they're Mexican they could be from Spain, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, etc. They probably aren't even Hispanic.
You just labeled that person just because they "look" like it.
That's why it's better to say "Hispanic" or "Latino/a".

Don't just assume someone's race or where they come from just cuz of their looks or what you think.

Hope that made sense.

Also I'm not upset because
"I'm just being a kpop stan"
I'm mad because what he said was wrong and extremely homophobic and racist.

And I DO NOT support that.

Hearing those hurtful words coming from my own family member was NOT okay and I won't hold any excuses for that child-like behavior.

Again I'm not upset that he was talking about kpop idols
I'm upset because he angrily shouted out a literal f-slur that he SHOULDN'T be saying and casually saying "chino" to identify Asians who he's referring to are Korean men who are just making music for their fans.

You don't call Asians "Chinese"
Asia isn't just Chinese. There's more than that.

India, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines,
AND MORE.
There is so many more beautiful cultures IN Asia.
Just say Asian instead of Chinese cuz there is more than that one country.
Not that fucking hard.

What sucks even more is that he does this to literally any Asian he sees. Last time he saw a well known singer on my step brother's TV screen. She goes by beabadoobe
(I think I spelled her name wrong).

And my step bro likes her music and I was like "oh yeah I know her" then my half bro casually calls her "China"

again this is "Chinese" in Spanish but in a  female term.

I told him that she was Philippina not Chinese.
Still calling her Chinese even though I clearly said she is from the Philippines.

I really hate this behavior among people.

Yes I know calling an Asian person or someone who looks like one would be labeled as "chino/a" is among the Hispanic culture.

But please we need to stop saying that because it is informal to say.

The word "chino" isn't racist.
I'm not saying that.
I just think we could be better than this.

And If you disagree with me and are racist/homophobic

I ask you to grow the fuck up
and stop being an ignorant child.

You're not special
You're not cute
You're not funny
And you're not quirky

You're just being a complete embarrassment

Stop.
