I took a few more deep breaths before leaving the bathroom. I felt almost ashamed of how I acted.
I crawled back into my hospital bed, not caring that my wet hair was soaking the pillow. My dad was somehow still sleeping in his chair.
The way those violet stars moved was so bizarre. They attacked Sallos like I was commanding them. It was strange and beautiful all at once. That was the first time that I had ever done something that really effected him.
I laid there in bed watching the tv without really paying attention. The an entire hospital seemed so quiet and calm. It wasn't at all what I pictured staying the night at a hospital would be like.
I flipped through channels to see if I could find anything interesting. My dad snored away beside me. I felt oddly calm sitting in the silence and I honestly wasn't super tired yet.
It was only 3am but I was confident that I could get through the night. The risk of falling asleep was too high for my mind to slip into.
I was pleasantly watching old reruns of The Nanny when I saw a figure standing in the corner of the room.
My eyes darted towards the figure, to recognize him as Sallos. I immediately felt my heart being to race and the room felt colder. His blazing green eyes were intensely glaring at me. His chest heaved up and down as he balled up his fists. He looked unbelievably angry and I was sure it had something to do with me attacking him earlier.
I didn't dare move or say anything as we stared at each other. Minutes went by with silence as this monster of a man shooter darts at me.
The sound of the door opening made my eyes widen in fear. The nurse pushed her cart into the room. She sweetly smiled as she saw me.
"What're you still doing up, sweetie?" the small blonde asked me.
I couldn't respond as I sat there in shock. Her eyes averted from me as they shifted to the corner of the room. Her mouth fell open and her eyes surged with fear.
Oh my god, she could see him.
She went to scream before Sallos reached at his hand. His hand seemed to control her, as she began to choke. Her body lifted into the air as he raised his hand.
"Sallos, stop it!" I screamed, making my dad jolt awake.
Sallos threw the girl across the room. Her body collided into my dad, sending his entire chair stumbling backwards. My dad fell onto the floor with the girl laid on top of him.
"What in the hell?" he groaned out, rubbing the back of his head.
I looked back to the corner to see that Sallos was now gone. My dad shifted the girl who was now unconscious off of him.
His head snapped up to stare at me in shock. His eyes were wide and he appeared slightly fearful of me.
"Dad, I didn't do this..." I pleaded with him.
He pressed his two fingers to the girls neck, making sure she had a pulse. He let out a deep sigh of relief when he felt her breathing. Her nose appeared broken and blood was pouring down.
My dad didn't say anything to me as he quickly picked up the girl in his arms. He rushed out of the hospital room as he called for help.
I couldn't help but sit there and sob. I felt so hopeless. I could see from the look on my fathers face that he fully blamed me for this and others would too. I didn't know what the girl would remember when she woke up and if she was even going to wake up.
I did realize one thing though, the monster was becoming more and more real. That girl saw him and he had the ability to hurt her. His connection to my reality was becoming stronger.
