One

It was a busy day for the Suárez Family. Unfortunately, this day was the day Lucen will move out and live in at his grandparent's estate. After nagging his parents about it every single day, they finally let him stay with his grandparents. Of course, Lucen was too happy for his parents liking. They prefer him staying inside their house to keep him safe but Lucen despise that idea. He doesn't like the idea of seeing the same things everytime. Heck, he might have already explored the whole house! From the secret passage of the library, the mysterious hole inside the basement, and many more!

After getting bored inside the house, Lucen thought that he should explore the outside world more rather than isolating himself from everyone. You might be wondering why he doesn't just communicate with his neighbours, well, the truth is, their house was in the middle of a forest. You read that right. His parents was too fixated on keeping him safe that they decided to just live inside the forest.

Lucen might be acting like a rebel child but he couldn't help it! Beside, it's good to be independent sometimes. You don't have to rely on your parents care! He is already 18 and during those 18 years staying inside the house like a hermit is just so boring. So now, after his parents finally agreed about his proposal, he is extremely overjoyed. The reason why he choose his grandparents despite him not meeting them properly was because they are near the city!

And he likes discovering new things such as new buildings, new people, and more!

Kahit 'di pa nakikita ng sarili niyang mga mata ang mga gusali, nababasa niya naman ito sa mga libro o diyaryo.

He got too excited that he started pacing out. Luckily, his one and only servant is here to snap him out of his thoughts.

"Young master, ready na po lahat. Ikaw nalang hinihintay."
Mahinhin na paalala ng kaniyang katulong habang bitbit ang isang libro.

"Ay, salamat, soldren."
Ngiting sabi ni Lucen bago maglakad papunta sa sasakyan.

Soldren smiled back. He watched the leaving figure of Lucen with dark eyes. When Lucen was out of his sight, he carefully look up to see the figure of Lucinda, Lucen's mother.

Lucinda shivered at the glare she received from him. Although the man was far inferior than her, Lucinda couldn't help but be scared. She knew what this man is capable of. He'll kill her if he wants to and no one will know and letting Lucen escape from his grasp seems to anger him more.

Part of her was relieved that her dear son will be away from this beast. She just hope that during the time that Lucen will not be here, the boy wouldn't cause any trouble.

The boy before her torn his gaze away from her and for the split second Lucinda was relieved.

"I hope you made the right decision."

The boy utter bitterly before leaving.

Lucinda didn't know that she was holding her breath the whole time she was with this beast. With her shaking hand, she carefully massage her chest, just above where her heart should be. It was as if she was soothing herself to calm down.

After a few minutes, Lucinda weakly goes back to her room. Her husband is not here because he has some matter to attend to, leaving her here to deal with the house.

As she was combing her hair, her thoughts drifted off.

"I hope you made the right decision"

'What does he mean by that?'

Now that she thinks about it.. Was it a right decision to let her dear son get out of the safe place they personally built?
