MALIBU, CALIFORNIA — 2005
NOTHING WOULD'VE PREPARED ANDIE FOR WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. It had all happened so fast, she would've never been prepared enough where she wouldn't have done what she had said.
Thirty-six hours before everything had happened, before the video was released, Andie watched from the side of the stage in her new Louis Vuitton dress she had gotten two hours prior. She looked around the gigantic room full of people listening to Rhodey's speech.
"As liaison to Stark Industries, I've had the unique privilege of serving with a real patriot. He is my friend and he is my great mentor. Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to present this year's Apogee Award to Mr. Tony Stark. Tony?" Everyone looked around the room for the man that had been called up, Andie included. Rhodey looked toward Andie and gave a subtle nod to come over.
"Thank you, Rhodey." Andie smiled. "Um...in case you can't tell from the lack of balls, I'm not my father." Chuckles came from the crowd. "However, if I were my father, I would say that I'm honored to accept such an beautiful award. But, you know how my father is..." She gave a chuckle before she spoke through her teeth. "...he's always working..."
The very second Andie had finished her so-called 'speech', she marched her way around to find her father, which was impossible to do. As far as she knew, her father could've been in some woman's sheets. Her luck had eventually found her when she spotted him in the casino. Andie waited for security to look the other way before sneaking in, as she was underage and wasn't ready to cause a scene if she were caught.
"Work it! Come on! We should just stay till the morning." Tony joked. He had a woman hanging off his shoulder, chuckling with him.
"No, I really don't think you should." Andie jumped in. She pushed the award into her father's chest. "Take your stupid award that you so clearly deserve."
"I'm sorry, cupcake. I got caught up." Tony pouted.
Andie rolled her eyes. "Yeah, it's okay."
Rhodey came a second after. "Hey, I was looking for you." He grabbed Tony's arm and patted him on the back. "Should've known, Starks love casinos." He chuckled.
The two turned to Tony who was back to playing his game. "Wow! Would you look at that? That's something else. I don't have any of those floating around. Uh, we're gonna let it ride! Give me a hand, will you? Give me a little something-something." He placed the dice under a hot woman next to him and she gave a blow onto the dice. "Okay, you too." He turned to Rhodey.
