Un'tra - ənˈtrʌ - Un-truh. The main character. A Holi-inte member. Un'tra means 'The One who Looks Within'.

Holi-inte - ˈhoʊ.li-ɪnteɪ - Holy-in-tay. An order of soldier scholars that use faith and education to learn about the world. Holi-inte is interpreted as 'The Swords of Faith', but its translation truly means 'Those who Sharpen the Mind'.

Holi-com - ˈhoʊ.li-kɑːm - Holy-caum. An order of soldiers used as police for Haimore. Holi-com is interpreted as 'The Swords of Duty', but its translation truly means 'Those who Sharpen their Obedience".

Drake - dreɪk - Drake. Head Senator of Haimore. The main antagonist.

Malbock - mɑːl bɑːk - Mall-bawk. A Senator that often follows the lead of Drake.

Docmore - ˈdɑːk mɔːr - Doc-more. A city located near Haimore. Used as a scapegoat for problems in Haimore

Brakken - bræk ɪn - Brack-in. A Senator.

Gulf - ɡʌlf - Gulf. A Senator.

Waku - ˈwɑ kjuː - Wa-queue. A Senator that disagrees with Drake's plan and is removed.

Drog - drɑːɡ - Drog. Name of the lead farmhand that murders Un'debro.

Haimorish - haɪ mɔːr lɪʃ - High-more-ish. The demonym for the people of Haimore.

Drullic Oncitus - druːlɪk ɑːn saɪ ˈtʌs - Drew-lick On-sigh-tuss. A deadly toxic plant that changes the existence of a creature that consumes it. It causes Un'tra to have a vision about his past.

Ro - roʊ - Row. Un'tra's given name before becoming a Holi-inte.

Un'codem - ənˈkoʊ dem - Un-co-dem. A Holi-inte that is friends with Un'tra. Un'codem means 'The One who Steps Surely'.

Un'nipu - ənˈni puː - Un-knee-poo. The antagonistical installed leader of the Holi-inte after Un'debro's death. Installed by the Senate to control the Holi-inte. Un'nipu means 'The One with a Strong Hand'.

Umtrick - ʌm'trɪk - Umm-trick. An elderly Senator that disapproves of Drake's plans for the Holi-inte.

Un'pet - ən pet - Un-pet. A former Holi-inte that devises a fake trial to sow fear amongst the order, so that the Senate can control the Holi-inte. Un'pet means 'The One who Creates New Paths'.

Ob'inte - ˈɒb'ɪnteɪ - Ob-in-tay. A fake trial created by Un'pet and implemented by the Senate. The trial is supposed to bring a worthy person closer to the gods, but it was designed to maim and kill the viewer. Ob-inte is interpreted as 'The Trial of Faith', but its translation truly means 'Deviation of the Mind'.

Bekel - beɪ kel - Bay-kell. A traveler that finds Un'tra after escaping the assault on the Holi-inte. She talks with him for a long ride back to the riots of Haimore.

Un'sey - ənˈseɪ - Un-say. The name many Holi-inte and Haimorish called Un'tra for his survival of the Ob-inte. It means "The One who Sees Through Fire'.
