Chapter 7: Lovers

Jennie and Lisa agreed to walk to this little park that was inside the campus. They walked in a very unsettling silence for most of the way before Lisa decided to break it.

"So, tomorrow will be my flight." she said.

Jennie heavily sighed, Lisa felt something was off. Although before she got the position in London, Lisa already talked to Jennie and the latter was very excited about the opportunity that she got. But just a week before her flight Jennie's mood drops and she becomes so irritated most of the time that Lisa almost avoids talking about it.

"Go have fun in there." Jennie spoke low, almost a whisper.

Lisa stopped then grabbed the brunette's hand to a halt. Jennie surprisingly looked back.

"You'll wait for me right?"

Jennie softened her eyes and cracked a small smile. "I wouldn't get this far with you if I can't wait two more years."

Lisa chuckled back. "I know. That's why I love you."

"I know. I'll slap your butt if you ever cheated on me with some British model." Jennie rolled her eyes while Lisa couldn't help but to laugh.

"What model are you talking about? I'm just a regular graduate student and besides, my eyes were already invested in this body of yours." Lisa gave her a wink.

"Shut up, pervert."

Lisa never fails to make her smile, that's one thing Jennie loves about her. The tall woman slowly pulled her into a warm embrace, pressing her soft lips against the brunette firmly. It felt like they hadn't seen each other in forever, the way Lisa kissed Jennie tells how much she loves the other girl.

Lisa's hand traveled down to the small of her back, as Jennie deepened the kiss that it almost cut Lisa's supple lips. At that moment oxygen didn't exist and neither did their surroundings.

Jennie was the first to break the kiss, she nervously glanced behind her.

"Wow. That.was.different." Lisa takes a deep breath.

At night, Jennie sat at the restaurant, surrounded by Lisa's friends and colleagues, all gathered to celebrate Lisa's upcoming internship in London. Everyone was chatting and laughing, enjoying the delicious food and drinks, but Jennie couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness that weighed heavily on her heart.

She had known about Lisa's internship for months, and while she was happy and proud of her girlfriend for this amazing opportunity, the thought of Lisa being away for so long made her feel anxious and lonely.

Jennie knew she had to put on a brave face for Lisa's sake, so she laughed and smiled along with everyone else, trying to enjoy the moment. But deep down, her heart ached at the thought of being apart from Lisa.

As the night wore on, Jennie noticed Lisa looking at her with a concerned expression. "Are you okay?" Lisa whispered, leaning in closer to her.

Jennie forced a smile and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just happy for you," she replied, hoping her voice didn't betray the sadness she felt inside.

Lisa didn't seem convinced, but she didn't push the matter any further. Instead, she turned her attention back to their friends, engaging in lively conversation and laughter.

Jennie sat there, lost in her thoughts, as she watched Lisa's face light up with joy. She knew that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Lisa, and she didn't want to hold her back.
