∞Flavour of love∞

Rudransh Singh Chauhan

Love is both peace and pain, and as long as this lady served as the peace of my heart and life, she also provided a taste of the pain she could inflict so well. Even the memory of her act yesterday gives me a physical reminder of the pain. That smug, cute look on her face when she sweetly asked me if I needed a cold pack every hour was both adorable and irritating, but I loved it all the same. She enjoyed every second of troubling me, not to mention that grin whenever she thought she had gotten under my skin or irritated me. All she was really doing was making me fall more in love with her.

It was already the next day, the second day at the site. Aahana was supposed to be here today with her design samples. I was already in the office, with her coffee in my hand. Every day around her and every small success in my efforts to win her forgiveness feels like I am finally on the right track.

I waited in the office for her. Looks like milady is running late once again. Beauty takes time.

"I am sorry! I didn't mean to be late, I just happened to be late," she rushed into the office, huffing with every breath. Cute.

"But, you are still late," I shrugged, giving her a lopsided smile.

"If you have a habit of being unnecessarily on time, that doesn't mean you should give her a hard time for missing a few minutes of your precious time," Aahana walked into the office, trailing behind milady in a hundred-thousand-dollar dress and with the attitude of a million dollars.

"Was your designing career not paying off well that you thought to shift to being a lawyer for your best friend?" I rose from my chair, buttoning my blazer, and giving the lady a taste of her own attitude.

"I don't think you would say the same after you see my designs, and you should think before talking about my designs because the lady you worship so lovingly wears them every day, making them worth more than your entire income." Feisty as ever. How does my brother handle her?

I sucked in air sharply, trailing my eyes towards her best friend, my love, who was controlling a smile threatening to break on her face.

"For me, it's worth something because she is wearing them. Otherwise, it's just stitched fabric." Her nostrils flared with anger at my remark as I walked over to Dhaya, who was witnessing the exchange between her best friend and her soon-to-be-getting-back boyfriend.

"The stitched fabric that's gonna make you millions if you decide to work on it rather than being mean to her." Did she just back her best friend over me? Come on, I am the love of your life. I mean, you haven't said it yet, but I know deep in your heart you mean it.

"Yeah, sure." I shrugged, leaning against the table with my arms crossed. "What design have you finalized for us, Miss Khurana?" As per my professional tone, Aahana reciprocated the demeanor, clearing her throat.

"I have them arranged in the conference room. Follow me." She turned, giving a god-knows-what expression to Dhaya, and walked out of the room. Wait for me, ladies.

We were seated in the conference room for the past hour and a half now, and I didn't think I would say it to her face, but, "I am impressed, Miss Khurana." She deserved it; the designs were exceptional.

"Good to hear, Mr. Chauhan. I would like to hear Miss Rajvansh's opinion too." Her gaze turned to Dhaya, who was focused on zooming in on the designs on her iPad.

"Something is missing, Aahana." She hissed, but what might she be talking about?

"What?" Aahana leaned onto the table, doubt etched on her face, mirroring mine.
