Chapter 3 - College

So let me explain our college, it was small compared to other institutions.

Total of 200 students, 4 classes and about 30 students in each class. BA, Bachelor of Arts, in 3 year course, some extra subjects like physics, and phsycology.

I had a lift club, With,this guy named Jordan. We werent really friends , but he was my ride home so i didnt complain. He had an SUV, which could carry about 6 to 7 passengers. Every Morning was a rush trying to get all 6 girls which were all in Nadia's class.

I called them the witch clan, always acting like the queens of campus and it was already quite tiny. They did everything together literally.

I was always the first to be picked up.

That Morning we arrived at college early. I went to Nadia's class to tell her my news about the text.

And was surprise to see Tate, playing table tennis with his friends. I'm Sure he saw me standing in the doorway, Because he was playing directly opposite it.

There was a huge table tennis board at the back of the class room.

He was playing with Zac, Blake, and Kevin. They were playing some sorta double team.

" Has anyone seen Nadia? i Asked Hoping that he would answer.

But instead Zac replied.

" I saw her go to the library" said Zac.

" Thanks" I replied, as I walked out of the classroom.

I got to the library eventually, still confused about Tate's reaction when he saw me. Nadia. Was with Natalie, and Nina.

Nadia was in her second year, and Natalie, Nina and I were in our first. We didn't really let that stop us from being as close as ever.

" So? DETAILS!, Did you do it? Shrieked Nadia.

" Yes, I did, but the most awkward thing just happened now, I went to your class to look for you, and he was playing tables tennis with the guys, he acted like he didn't know me"

" That sounds like Tate, his quite shy, but he'll come around don't you, worry " said Nadia.

" Are you Sure his shy?, he didn't seem so shy last night" I stated.

"Well, not everyone is how they chat " said Natalie.

" Yeah, plus it's easier talking to people over the phone than in person" said Nina

" What about the Library ? He spoke to me then" I said.

" You guys were alone remember? Maybe he needs to get used to the idea of speaking to you imfront of his guy friends. He takes his time with these things, plus don't think he expected to see you while he was in the middle of a game." Said Nadia.

" Just keep defending him hey"

" I can't help it, he is my friend " she said.

"But Girls we need to get to class" i gestured to Natalie and Nina.

" See you at lunch Nadia" said Natalie.

We went to first period,Those periods just dragged. Nina and I even ended up making plans for the week, where I would go to her house after campus to study.

Then when it was break Nadia sent a text for us to meet, in her class. I have no idea why though.

My heart started racing, what if we did speak again, like it would be our first conversation after chatting. What would I say.

I walked into the class, and the guys were playing table tennis again, I guess That's what the guys at this campus do.

" Hey Mila! " said Zac.

"Hey" I replied.

Right after that moment I heard Tate.

" Hey Mila, hey Natalie " said Tate.

" Hi" we both replied.

He was still playing table tennis but he was talking to me at the same time.

" How are you girls?" He stated, while attempting to hit the ball over the net.

He was quite good at this game, I had to give him that. The rest of break Natalie, Nina and I, just sat and spoke about how Natalie knew Tate. The topic of thr day. While Nadia ran up and down trying to help her other friends with there problems. She was just everyones physcologist.

" Natalie, you know him?" I asked.

" Sure, we've always been friends. " she stated.

" When? Why didn't you tell me " I whinned.

" I didn't think it mattered" she stated.

After lunch, the day couldn't finish fast enough, before I knew it I was back home, doing a repeat of the day before. I didn't have alot to do though.

Nadia and Natalie lived far from me so me and Nina were close. We at least lived in the same area. It was easy to have study sessions with just me and her. We'd end up studying for a short while, get bored and then just start talking.

Snuggled cozy in bed once again after an interesting day at college I picked up my phone and started browsing. Finally getting to Tate's contact.

Me: " Hey you "

Tate: " Hey Mila, whatsup?

Me: " Oh, nothing much, just thought I'd pop in and say hi, you know since you were lost for words when you saw me this morning ."

Tate: " Oh come-on, you caught me off guard, in the middle of a game with my friends "

Me: " You could've at least said hi you know"

Tate: " I did , remember at lunch? "

Me: " Yeah, I remember, right after Zac said hi"

Tate: " What can I say? I'm different when I'm with my friends "
Me: " it's okay, so you quite good at table tennis hey"

Tate: " Well, I do play, and the equipment, I bring everyday, just found the board at campus. "

Me: " You should teach me to play some time, I'm Sure I'll be terrible. "

Tate: ' Nothing I can't fix, trust me you'll be one of the best player's at campus "

Me: " I hope you can stick to your words"

Tate: " It's on! Tomorrow break time, make Sure you in my class"

Me: " okay deal"

Me: " Oh, I forgot to ask you, How do you know Natalie? "

Tate: "Long story, but Let's just say she got my number from someone and started chatting to me, I didn't want to be rude you know, to tell her off so Yeah, we sorta friends I think "

Me: " Well that does sound like her, lol, I just can't believe she didn't tell me "

Tate: " Don't blame me she's your friend"

Me: " I know, anyway I'm off to bed, its on for tomorow, Goodnight, sleep tight "

Tate: " Goodnight. Sweet dreams, and hopefully I'll see you in Mine"

I locked my phone and shoved it under my pillow and fell asleep.
