"How difficult is it for you to pick something?"

Sangyeon ignores Jacob's whining from behind him, his eyes trailing over the cakes as though he hadn't been doing exactly this most days. "Shut up."

"Must be that colleagues fault," a familiar voice interrupts from beside them, the two looking over as Sangyeon's eyes widen. "Still buying her treats?"

"Oh, hey," Sangyeon smiled at the cashier who just so happened to be at the same bakery this morning. "Yeah, evidently. I'd have been much quicker than this if I wasn't."

"Mhm," she hummed. "I'm guessing that's why you haven't called?"

Jacob looked on in disbelief, his eyes widening as he looked between the pair. He suddenly felt awkward but he couldn't look away, not when his best friend looked the most stumped he had ever been.

"I never got your name," was the only excuse Sangyeon could think of. Why didn't he call this pretty lady back?

"You could have said anything else," she huffed, chuckling in disbelief as she walked away.

It was then Sangyeon looked over his shoulder at his best friend. "Pick something for Jangmi," he instructed. "Wait, please-"

"Why should I?" The girl answered, turning on her heels as they neared the front door.

"What is your name?" He quizzed, watching as her eyes softened when she looked at how he was now actually trying.

"Sujin," she answered simply, the boy nodding. "And yours?"

"Sangyeon," he smiled, taking out his phone. "I don't deserve it, but if you put your number here - I promise that you'll hear from me."

Her eyes trail his face for a second, concluding that he may just be genuine. The fact that he was that handsome too was enough to make her melt. "Okay, but this is your last chance."

He grinned as he watched her type, taking the phone graciously from her as she looked up at him. "I'll see you soon, Sujin."

"Okay," she tried to hide her smile by pursing her lips, turning around. "Bye, Sangyeon."

The boys smug expression was enough to make his best friend roll his eyes as he approached him. "Did you find something she'd like?"

"A couple things," Jacob shrugged, handing over the little brown bag to the cashier. "Who is she?"

Sangyeon chuckled, shaking his head. "It's a long story."

The man's eyes trail around the office, the small paper bag in his hand would surely soak up his sweaty palms and ruin the delicacy underneath if he held on to it much longer.

It was then he caught Jacob's eye, mouthing to him. "Where is she?"

He watched as his best friend walked over quietly, leaning in. "I heard that sometimes she takes her break downstairs at reception."

"Why?" Sangyeon was puzzled. He didn't notice most of the time if she was gone anyway.

"Not sure," Jacob shrugged, walking away as his friend groaned under his breath.

He watched carefully as his boss walked back into his office, leaving the door ajar just enough to see that he had put on his coat, now heading towards the office door. "You're in charge for five minutes."

"Of all 6 people?" Jacob pretended to gawk sarcastically, Sangyeon mocking his face as he walked by.

He tapped his foot anxiously as he stood in the elevator. He wondered if he was losing sight of why he did this every day.

When the elevator doors pinged open, he saw her right away.

She sat casually upon the edge of the marble table, smiling and laughing with whoever sat behind it. "Jangmi?"

"Oh," she hummed, straightening herself up but still letting her legs dangle below her. "Sangyeon. How can I help you?"

"I just wanted to give you this," he placed the bag forward as he walked towards her. "For your lunch."

"Thank you," Jangmi nodded, her auburn hair falling over her face just enough to mask the sheer confusion even though he did this every day now. "You didn't have to."

Sangyeon's eyes then trailed over to the person behind the table, and the one behind her laughter which was rare to hear.

It was a boy who he had undeniably seen and spoken to before. He was striking looking, almost a little too perfect. "Hey, Seonghwa."

"Hey," he nodded, smiling up at him. "How's the office treating you today?"

"Great, as always," Sangyeon jokingly replied, trying not to look too awkward as he looked between them. "Well, enjoy your break."

"Thanks," Jangmi nodded, but not without Sangyeon noticing the small smile she displayed on her lips. "You too."

With a bow, he rushed back to the elevator, sucking in a deep breath as he prayed the doors would close quicker.

Did she come down here every day just to see him? Were they dating?

"You look stressed," Jacob commented as Sangyeon strolled past him. "Does she hate you still?"

With a forced chuckle, the elder shook his head, muttering a 'no' before closing his office door.

Pulling out his phone, his thumbs scrolled quickly before he reached the number of the girl maybe he should be paying more attention to.

With a sigh, he closed his eyes before letting his fingers linger over the keyboard.
