Rebirth

I picked up my bow and quiver as Jakx and I ran. I watched our burning home sink into the distance as my brother and I ran. Jakx was half right when he said a war was coming, but it wasn't coming it was already here. We were just too busy to notice. The enemy knew when to strike, and they knew how to disappear. We ran into the city we had to find help! As Jakx and I entered the city we saw it. Flying above the entire kingdom of tribes, clear as day was a huge blimp with a monitor. Jakx and I were on it, we were wanted for the massacre of the entire royal tribe. We were fugitives, framed for a crime we didn't commit. "Oh my god.. Who would do such a thing?" I cried. I began to sob uncontrollably.

"Hey, hey, Liyna stay with me! You can't fall apart now! Were wanted, we need to get out of here. You wanted to be alpha well you cant be alpha if you're dead! Move it little sister!" Jakx said. I nodded through tears. I guess someone saw us because right as I nodded a spotlight beamed on us.

*Freeze! You're under arrest for the murder of the Theodulf  Tribe!* 

Jakx and I booked it as fast as we could, we were in the dead center of town, and our only hope of freedom was to reach the walls and leave the tribe. We ran as fast as we could as the royal guard approached hot on our tail! "Jakx we got incoming!!! I screamed. 

"I hope you've been practicing, were headed to the rooftops come on Liyna!" Jakx hollered back. Jakx and I parkoured our way up a fruit stand and up to the rooftops. From here on the rooftops the outer wall was 5 miles away easy. We hauling ass when I heard a crack! I looked behind me and saw the royal guard in pursuit on foot behind us on the roof tops. I remembered what Jakx told me when I was younger.... *Focus Liyna, always know the lay of the land, how many targets, what are the obstacles-* I focused my attention on the royal guards: 3 on the roof in pursuit, 5 on the ground in pursuit. 

Royal guard: *Answer to justice or die, even I wouldn't kill my whole tribe, Lycans!!!* 

I watched the Royal guard that had once protected me and my family, transform behind us, and below us. Now for those of you who don't know, there are 2 different types of Lycan transformations: The first is the most common, your bones shift, break, and mend inside your body as you grow fur, claws, ears, a snout, and a tail. Lycans stand 9 feet tall, and are extremely strong, fast, and dangerous. The second transformation, no one has seen in centuries. Only a pure blood Lycan can get it, and even then, they only have a 5% chance of having it. This Rare blood type change was not only painful, but it was also terrifying. Instead of breaking every bone in their body, instead they just grow their Lycan counterpart under their skin, with the face as the last thing to change. These Lycans didn't have tails, were 3 times as strong as a normal Lycan, and were 5 times as fast. These unique Lycans would literally tear off their skin with their claws, shedding their skin like a snake only not intact. Underneath their skin the fur was already there. This transformation was nightmare fuel to Lycans. The royal guard had the common transformations.

"Jakx we got to go!!" I screamed out. Before I knew it Jakx threw me on his shoulders as he had been transforming simultaneously as when the royal guards did. Jakx took off like a bat out of hell! We were closing in on the outer wall when one of the royal guards lunged at us! I saw it. Everything was in slow motion. I was panicking and yet, I was completely calm. I saw him getting closer, the royal guard below smiling viciously, Jakx almost seemed to be running in place. I thought it was the end, and then almost as if moving on instinct my body swung in front of my brother, and wrapped my legs around his torso as I looked over his shoulder. I pulled an arrow from my quiver and loaded my bow! The royal guard was inches from catching us, I breathed in as I pulled my bow, blinked once and exhaled as I let loose my arrow. Time sped up almost as if someone hit play, my arrow plunged into the eye of the royal guard piercing his eye as he screamed in agony, the arrow didn't kill him because it wasn't silver unfortunately, but it worked well enough as I watched him roll off the rooftop. "Keep it up Liyna! 2 miles!!" Jakx screamed.

My body wasn't listening to me anymore, it was pulling arrows and firing on it's own. I was merely a passenger enjoying the ride as my brother Jakx jumped from rooftop to rooftop, his fur was black but his Lycan counterpart's snout was white. I picked off royal guards one by one, injuring each one that came close to us. I held on tight to my brother, protecting our backs as he ran. I felt myself free fall as Jakx leapt onto the outer wall and began using his claws to scale the 100 meter high wall. As soon as Jakx got his claws into the wall he began climb-running as fast as he could up the wall, 3 royal guards chased after us. I let loose an arrow sending one of them toppling 50 meters down to the ground. We were halfway up the wall when I took out my last arrow. "Shit!" I yelled. "What?!" Jakx yelled concerned. "Last arrow, 2 guards!" I yelled back. "Make it count Liyna. I believe in you." Jakx said in his calmest voice ever. I held my breath as I let loose my final arrow, the first guard dodged it as the second guard took the hit and plummeted. *I got you now!* The guard screamed lunging at us. Without thinking my body spun around Jakx as I held onto his shoulder with one hand and kicked the guards face with my foot. The guard caught my leg laughing as he held on to my leg, *You thought you could kick me? * "No I expected you to catch me!" I screamed as I pulled my silver hunting knife from it's holster and plunged it into his eye. *AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!* The guard screamed as he fell to his death, landing on the blade which pierced his brain. I held onto Jakx as he scaled the wall, jumping down the other side as he used his claws to slow us down. Jakx ran off into the forest beyond the walls. we had escaped from the tribes, but we were run out of our home. After Jakx and I had escaped the city it wasn't long before the 4 tribes had to come together for the new challenge day. Someone had to run the new council, without a True Alpha the tribes would fall to chaos. Little did we know, there was already a new True Alpha. 

*Back in the forest of celestial pines...*

Standing above 4 other Alpha males from each tribe now defeated, was a man of wisdom. The years had not been kind to this man, but he was in great shape. The man had short grey hair and a finely trimmed beard, he was muscular and fit despite his old age. As the tribes knelt down and pledged their allegiance to the new True Alpha, the old man spoke."

"Good people of Celestial Pines, I know how unfortunate the situation is. That the death of our True Alpha came at the hands of his own son and daughter. I promise you we won't stop until we find them. Jakx and Liyna Theodulf from this moment on, are traitors to their family, their tribe, and to my brother and his wife, Miyno and Jaessie (Mino and Jessie) Theodulf. Their deaths will not be in vain. My niece and nephew will be brought to justice, and they will face their crimes. This is a new age, the dawn of a new birth. The rebirth of Celestial Pines. We will be stronger than ever. My name is Balthazar Theodulf, and I am your new True Alpha!"
