Pt 21

I'm so tired rn bc I stayed up all night and I want to take a nap but I know I will mess my sleep schedule up more than it already is LMAO if you have a normal sleep schedule I'm actually jealous anyways I hope you enjoy this chapter <3

"Thank you for the clothes Bill." I said smiling
   "Oh no problem!" Bill said
   It was a little awkward because it kind of went silent after that for a few seconds. I just walked over to the bed and got under the covers. I was pretty tired after the day we had but even though I was tired I felt like I couldn't sleep. All I could think about was what I just heard Tom and Bill talk about. I wondered if I should've just minded my business and not listen in on them but how could I have known that's what they would be talking about?
   "Well I'm going to head to bed if you guys need anything just let me know." Bill said closing the door behind him
   Both Tom and I said goodnight to bill. As I laid in the bed I watched Tom. He was standing by the end of the bed looking out the window.
"Come lay down with me." I asked quietly
   Tom turned around and looked at me and a gave him a little smile. At first when he turned around his face looked sad but when I smiled at him he smiled back. He walked over to the bed and took his shirt and jeans off. He opened up the blanket and laid down. He turned the lamp off and we laid together as our eyes adjusted to the dark. He turned towards me and just studied my face for a moment.
    "What are we going to do y/n?" Tom asked
"I'm not sure what we will do but I know everything is going to be okay." I told him
    "How do you know that?" Tom asked
"I just know it." I said smiling a little
    "I love you y/n." Tom said smiling
"I love you so much." I said
   Tom leaned in and kissed me. When he pulled away we were still close. I could see in his face he was still upset.
"What's bothering you?" I asked him
    "I don't know I just am sad about the things that were taken." Tom said
"Me too. We will find some of it hopefully." I sigh
    "I don't want to talk about it because it stresses me out." Tom says
"That's okay. I'm sorry I don't want to stress you out." I said quietly
"No no y/n don't be sorry I just...I don't know I'm just sad. I lost some stuff that I can't replace." Tom said
"Like what?" I asked
"Just like jewelry that was given to me and stuff like that." Tom said nervously
"I'm sorry baby I really hope we find everything." I said
"Yeah I hope so to y/n." Tom said
He turned onto his back and just stared up at the ceiling. I looked at him for another moment and then pulled myself onto his chest. He wrapped his arm around me and then kissed the top of my head and began playing with my hair. Eventually I fell asleep like this. When I woke up Tom was still playing with my hair. The sun looked like it was just coming up so I knew it had only been a few hours. I don't think Tom slept at all. I turned my head towards his face and he looked down at me.
"Did you sleep at all?" I asked him groggy
"No I couldn't sleep." Tom said
I just frowned at him a little and then moved my body up and gave him a kiss. I sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes. I got up and walked over to the window and looked outside it. There were still people at our house. I turned around to look at Tom and he was looking at me.
"Do you want some coffee?" I asked him
"Yeah I will come with." Tom said
Tom slowly got out of bed and stretched. He put his pants back on and his shirt then followed me down into Bill's kitchen. I made us coffee and then we walked across the street to our house. The officer we saw last night was still there. He walked up to us.
   "Good morning guys hope you slept okay. We just got back in contact with the investigators who came after you left last night and they took the dna samples. They have some information for you two but you have to meet with them at the station. Are you able to meet them there now?" He asks
    "Yes we can go now!" Tom said quickly
   "Okay perfect I will let them know you're on your way." He said
   Tom walked quickly into Bills house and I followed behind him. Tom started yelling Bills name until I heard Bills bedroom door open.
  "What???" Bill said
    "We need your car to get to the station." Tom said
   "Just grab my keys from the counter. Do you want me to come with?" Bill asked
    "Yeah if you can come." Tom said
   "Okay let me just change my clothes." Bill said walking back into his room
   Tom was pacing back and forth and I was just praying that we would be getting good news. After a few minutes Bill came down the stairs and Tom was already walking towards the garage in the back.
"Do you want the rest of my coffee?" I asked Bill
   Bill nodded his head and then grabbed the mug and finished it all before we walked out of the house together. Tom was sitting in the car already so Bill got in the back and I sat next to Tom in the front. We buckled in and then Tom immediately started driving kind of quickly. I hated when Tom drove sometimes because he loves to drive fast. We did get to the station quickly though. Tom held my hand as we walked in and Bill stood close behind. We got to the front desk and told them what we were there for and the lady at the front said she would let them know we were here. We didn't wait long before a man we didn't recognize opened another door and called our names.
   "Hi nice to meet you guys. Please follow me back so we can talk." He said smiling
   We all followed him into a separate room and he closed the door behind him. We all took seats around a table in the middle of the room. Tom held my hand under the table and it reminded me of one of the first days we met and we were on the radio show together. Even in our most stressful moments we always find ourselves connected physically.
   "Alright thank you all for getting here so swiftly. I know it must be a very stressful time for you. Luckily I have some good news for you." The investigator said
    "What is it?" Tom said promptly
   "When we ran the dna samples we found at the house we were able to identify who did this because they have already been in our system before. We have them in custody now and we have recovered almost everything that was taken. The only thing we weren't able to recover was the money that was taken." The man said
   I smiled and turned my head to Tom who looked so relieved and then I looked to Bill and he was smiling too. I squeezed toms hand and he turned to me and gave me a quick kiss. We didn't care about the money that was taken we just wanted to get our things back.
    "So aside from the money you were able to find everything else?" Bill asked
   "Yes we have everything here with us. We already took pictures of everything and have it all in the system as evidence so you can leave here today with the things that were taken." He said
"Thank you so much." I said smiling
   "Of course. Give me a few minutes to get everything and then I will bring it to you and you can leave here today. We will keep in contact with you to keep you updated on the case." The man said getting up and leaving the room
   The three of us looked at each other and we all had the biggest smiles on our faces. I can't believe they were able to find who did this so quickly and were able to find everything. We sat in the room for a few minutes and then the investigator walked back in the room with big clear bags filled with things I recognize. He placed the two bags down on the table and my eyes immediately gravitated to a little blue jewelry box at the bottom of the bag closest to Tom. I looked over at him and his eyes were on the jewelry box too but then he looked over at me and my eyes went back to the little box. He grabbed the bag off the table and thanked the man which distracted me a little. I grabbed the other bag and we headed back to the car. We were all still smiling when we left the station.
