Reki woke with a start, jolted from sleep by a sharp knocking on the door of their room,
"Roooooommm serviceeeeeee!!!!" A shrill voice called.
Room service? Reki thought he would remember if he had ordered food. Langa had a hollow leg but he was in a dead sleep, no way he had asked for this morning alarm.

Reki groaned, rolling out of bed to let the woman know that they hadn't asked for room service. He pushed his hair back from his eyes as he blinked the sleep away, woefully trudging toward the door.

As he swung the door open, reki heard a stifled "oh" and blinked harder, trying his hardest to wake up.

A thin girl with bright pink braids stood in the doorway holding a thermos, looking frightened as well as intrigued. She raised an eyebrow while biting the inside of her cheek.

"Are you the poor soul who was crushed by the a avalanche?" She cocked her head to the side, leaning in, "my uncle said there were some boys around I might know, but I don't recognize you."

Still groggy with sleep, Reki mumbled, "Just visiting from Japan. Little vacation"

The two started at a clattering from within the room, followed by the padding of bare feet on the wooden floor.

The girl took a few steps back as langa appeared beside Reki, their skin nearly touching, "can we help you with something?" Langa asked calmly.

"Uh" the girl began.

"We really are just visiting, so if you don't mind, we don't have time to make friends." Langa responded curtly, as he swung the door shut in her face.

Reki stood still in shock. He had never seen Langa act like this. He seemed almost ... angry. It was strange to see his calm features contort that way. Strange but also good? In a way... it was so confusing.

Langa didn't move. Didn't breathe. Couldn't process.

Reki reached out gently, "are you okay?"

Langa wouldn't look at him.

"Langa"

He turned his head slightly, so he was looking at a spot on the floor that was just a little bit closer to rekis toes than before, "huh?"

"Are. You. Okay?"

Langa just paused a moment and shook his head, "I don't know Reki... I don't know. I don't understand. All I know is I don't want her anywhere near you."

Reki smiled inwardly. Langa was jealous. He thought for a moment and decided to start the morning off cheeky, "what? Why?"

He could see Langa stumbling for a reason as he sputtered out several unintelligible syllables.

"She seemed nice..." he taunted.

"Oh" langa responded, "I'm sorry I slammed the door on her then. I'm sure you two would've hit it off, had I not so rudely interrupted." And at that, langa spun around and stomped back to his bed and crawled under the covers. He was tired.

Reki stood dumbfounded at the door. He was only teasing but Langa was sensitive. He knew that. Ugh. Stupid Reki.

"Hey," he murmured as he made his way toward langa, "I was only messing with you. Are you okay... really?"

Langa pulled the blanket tighter around his shoulders, "I'm good."

"You're not."

"I am"

"No. You're not."

"You don't know me"

But I do... "Langa."

"Hm"

"What is it?" Reki pleaded.

Langa sighed, "I didn't like her here."

Reki sighed, "I don't know why she was here but she didn't seem to mean any harm..."

Langa rolled his eyes slightly.  Just enough that only Reki could've caught it.

Reki didn't know what to think or say.  This situation was so unfamiliar to him.  Was Langa jealous? Or was something else going on? Maybe he was just grumpy. He had spent that past day caring for him.  He couldn't possibly blame him for being tired when he'd quite literally carried him back to the lodge after that avalanche.  Reki didn't know what to make of it.
