"Hey Ethan," Y/n greeted, seeing her half American and half Korean friend in the halls.

"Hi Y/n," he said, his voice sounding more sad than usual. Ethan had recently been rejected by his best friend, Jihoon or whatever. It turns out Ethan had been too scared to ask Jihoon about his sexuality, so he just straight up confessed. To which he got brutally rejected.

"Are you doing okay?"

"Uh, yeah, it's no big deal," he mumbled, scratching the back of his neck. "I should've known he was straight."

"It's not your fault for not knowing he's straight. And I'm sure there are other boys out there. Maybe you could hit up my neighbor."

Ethan rolled his eyes, but a small smile crept up from the corner of his mouth. "Yeah, whatever."

Y/n chuckled. "I'm going to get going, see you?"

"Yeah, bye." They waved goodbye and Y/n went off to her next class with Eunji.

When she arrived, she saw Eunji waving at her.

"Hey," she greeted, setting her backpack next to her friend.

"Girl where have you been?? I've been sitting here for like 500 years." Y/n rolled her eyes.

"I was talking to Ethan."

"That really pretty attractive one that like gets all the girls?"

"Uh, I guess? He just got rejected though."

"WHAT. How?! Like, every girl likes him."

"By his friend Jihoon."

"Jihoon? That sounds like a boy's name-"

"Cuz it is."

Eunji's eyes widened. "He likes boys?" She sighed. "Damn, and here I thought I had a chance with him." She thought for a moment. "I genuinely thought he liked you, not gonna lie."

"Really? I can't see that." Y/n then listened to Eunji's rant about something that happened this morning.

Speaking of this morning...

"And then she was like 'If you're gonna go for it, then audition!' Seriously, what is up with that lady?"

"Yeah. Speaking of this morning, this guy stole my strawberry milk and we started arguing in front of the cashier."

"Ooooh, okay, drama... was this 'guy' cute??"

Y/n thought. Yeah, he was attractive... but he wasn't really her type. "Well, yeah I guess."

"Ooh, can I see what he looks like??"

"I don't think so, sorry."

"Do you even have any classes with him?"

"History. I'm not sure about the other ones, but I'm sure you'll see him at some point with his red Cheeto dust chair," Y/n sighed.

It was time for lunch. Y/n decided that she was going to get her strawberry milk. Her plan was simple: wait maybe patiently in line and quickly snatch her beloved strawberry milk. No redhead or any big head for that matter was going to get in her way.

She lined up and took a kimchi, tofu, and rice bowl. When she drew near the drink section, she saw him.

She was NOT going to let the redhead take her strawberry milk. Sprinting in front of two very grumpy students, she pushed the redhead's shoulder away from the gorgeous sensation. Then at the speed of light, her half hawk wrists shot out and grabbed the milk.

Y/n sped back to her place in line and celebrated to herself for her sweet revenge. She took a small peek at the angry bird.

While she expected the redhead to be throwing a tantrum, he elegantly grabbed another strawberry milk from the ice drawer. She felt a bit flustered that it was not the last one she grabbed.

"Hi, that girl will be paying for my meal," she heard him say, gesturing to her. He strutted away, nose in the air, looking like a 5 star Michelin. [insert pixel savage glasses].

Her jaw dropped to the floor in shock as no words came out of her mouth. But it was too late to object to his statement, and as the two students in front of her finished paying, she grumpily walked up to the cashier.

"Hi, what did you take today?"

"Uhmm...two drinks and two meals. I'm paying for the guy with the red hair who just passed."

Gently, she slid forward enough money to pay for both of them and flashed her I.D. card.

"Alright, here are your things. Have a good day."

Y/n walked away and found her friends, Eunji and Ethan.

"Y/n!" Eunji exclaimed, "Why are you so late today?"

"The lunch line was busy I guess," she explained. "Speaking of the lunch line..." Y/n made a face. "A stupid redheaded guy made me pay for his meal. All I did was go in front of him to grab my drink. Ahhhg and the worst part of it all is that I didn't even need to cut in line--there was way more than one strawberry milk. I could've just avoided this situation if I didn't do anything stupid. Recently I applied for the school's lunch card program because it's getting harder to pay for my meals and this is not going to be any easier if I have to pay for his."

"Gworllll, Eunji and I always offer to treat you but your selfless side comes out and we can't do anything."

"Yeah but hey, maybe I can see if I can get money out of this tutoring thing. This person might be nice enough to leave tips," Y/n said with a hopeful smile.

"And the professor was complimenting me! Saying stuff like..." Ethan had begun to drone on about something that happened in his last period but Y/n had to hurry to her locker to throw the weight of her textbooks in there before turning back to the staircase and rushing to tutoring. She was nervous and excited but once she opened her locker she was caught with a surprise. A large stack of won was in there with a folded origami butterfly perched on top.

Her eyes squinted in confusion as she delicately held the butterfly and examined it. She took the won and put it in her wallet.

Who put the money and the butterfly in her locker? It was sure a surprise but also she was thankful for it. It made her day and she tucked the paper animal in her wallet as well. Then she stuffed the textbooks she didn't need and rushed off to her history teacher's classroom.

When she arrived Mr. Jung was correcting papers. His head went up and he smiled.

"Hello, Ms. Y/n. Thank you for offering to tutor my new student, Lee Eunhyeok." He sighed. "From what I could tell, he was kicked out of his old university. Of course, this one is accepting, and what I was told was he had a relative who works here. He must've wiggled his way into our program. Nonetheless, I do expect you to be fair to him."

"Of course. Also, here's the paperwork."

Mr. Jung nodded and took the paper.

"I'll take my leave now. Thanks again, Y/n."

She smiled at him as he left the classroom, but it instantly faded as she processed what he had just said.

This Eunhyeok guy got kicked out of his uni...? He must've done something pretty bad then. And he got let into THIS one by a relative? That's absurd!

Suddenly, the door opened and a tall redhead slurping strawberry milk stood leaning up against the door, backpack slung lazily around his shoulder and his eyes wide in shock.
