Under the Spell (Chapter Five)

It's been two months since Lyla told him about Eve, but Miguel couldn't find anything suspicious. Eve is just living her life, sometimes she would do delivery for the neighborhood just so she could get herself some money. Eve doesn't like just working for one office, once there's a request for people to help, she would be there.

Eve would stay there until she thinks she has help enough, so she would start changing other jobs.

"Miguel, could you do this?" Eve shows a footage to Miguel, it's about MJ and Peter Parker kissing. The upside down kiss.

"It looks so romantic for a couple like us, a normal human being and her Spider man boyfriend."
"Mi Amor, how did you find that?"
"I asked Lyla to show me the Spider Man romance story and this is the first thing she showed me," Eve chuckled.
"Lyla," Miguel sighed, looking at Lyla who disappeared, smirking as Miguel looked at her.
"Can we do that?" Eve begged, "please?"

Miguel groans and sticks his web on the ceilings, hanging himself upside down, slowly going down to Eve.

He's not used to doing stuff like this but if it's for Eve, he would do it.

"I am very not used to this."
"Just this once."

Their lips connected, just as the scene continued to play, without sound. They are doing the same thing as the footage.

Today is Eve and Miguel's one year anniversary of them first meeting each other. Miguel has a surprise for Eve.

Eve told Miguel that she has something to do today so she'll be home by evening, which gives Miguel enough time to prepare everything.

Miguel made himself a sandwich and coffee for lunch, also checking up with Eve, making sure she's nowhere near home because there's a high chance Eve would return early and ruin the surprise. Luckily Eve is blocks away from Miguel.

"Mi-migu-Miguel!" The audio glitches.
"Lyla?" Miguel checked his signal, the signal is working perfectly so why can't Lyla reach him?
"Get bac- get back to the HQ now!" The audio ended.

Miguel leaves the house quickly, leaving all the decorations on the floor.

When he reached the HQ, it's a mess. Distraction everywhere, the webs. Miguel couldn't believe the sight he's looking at. The HQ is damaged. Someone invaded the HQ.

"Lyla!" Miguel called.

No response.

Whoever invades the HQ must've cut down the power. Leaving the emergency light on.

A figure rushed towards Miguel, as Miguel self defense, he threw the person and pinned the person on the ground.

"Peter?" He immediately helped Peter up.
"Miguel," Peter coughed, "the HQ was under attack by an enemy we have never encountered before, whoever the person is, they're very strong."
"Where is everyone?"
"They are trying to stop the person. I overheard from Jess that it seems to be the Mafia killer, I don't even know what the Mafia killer Jess is talking about," then he passed out.

The Mafia killer.

Miguel's anxiousness raised. He quickly put on his suit and went to find everyone. He only knows he's getting closer is the amount of Spider Man laying on the ground, they're not dead, just knocked out.

"Miguel!" It's Jess, who's trapped in an energy box. Miguel stopped and checked if he could get Jess out but there's nothing he could do, because it's magic.

"That bitch keeps locking me up, the Peters are still chasing after the woman, just be careful, I'll see if I can break out again."

"Be careful Miguel!" Jess' voice echoed as Miguel continued his way towards the Mafia killer.
