Jacob POV

After she spoke, she lost consciousness. I let the nurse help monitor her while I go and call Raven Hood Public Hospital.

After 3 rings on the phone, a nursing assistant answered and let me on the line with Dr. Carter.

"Dr. Jacob! I have heard about you and your abilities." Someone said in the other line.

"Is this Dr. Carter?" I questioned "I would like to talk to you about Skye Evan." I said .

"Sky! What happened to that girl?" He asked sounding concern.

"I heard that she is a patient of yours." I said "Yesterday she was brought to our hospital as an emergency patient and I was the one who performed that emergency surgery." telling him what happened.

"How is she now?" He ask

"The surgery was successful." I said.

"Thank God!" He said delightedly "No matter what, Skye has received the best treatment from the best doctor! I am glad!" He said, praising me.

"Skye always refused to have surgery." He said, sounding quite depress through the phone, but tried to continue on. "I have asked her many times to be hospitalized since her heart attack two years ago." He said.

Right after he said all that, it took me a while to process that Skye had been in a critical condition two years ago to cause her have a heart attack.

"She was brought to the hospital two years ago because of a heart attack?!" I yelled through the phone, frantically standing up. "How was her condition at the time?" I ask, quite curious about how she was.

"The patient couldn't keep calm. Even though her valve was already leaking, but she was still conscious. I administered her some sedative and brought her to the hospital. Her condition was very critical. Never the less.... She was still delirious and said that she wanted to go her cousin's place." Hearing him talk about her wanting to go to her cousin's house made me think about Vanessa.

'Is that what happened two years ago?' I ask myself thinking through everything Dr. Carter had just said.

But of course there is still much to say because Dr. Carter pulled me out of my cloud of thought continuing the story.

"Since then she come here once every three months for regular check ups. Since that time, her condition." he paused and took a big gulp, but continued " Has worsened. I have recommended her to go for surgery before it's too late, but.... " He stop already knowing.

"I didn't know about that. Skye never said anything to me." I said

I heard Dr. Carter chuckled lightly. "Skye is a woman who doesn't want to rely on anyone, right?" Furthermore, she said she has no relative." He said

"No... She has an uncle and an aunt." I corrected.

"Right. But, you definitely know how they treat their sibling ' s unwanted child? Definitely not the same as their own child." He said.

"Did Skye tell you all of these?" I ask, kind of surprise how he would know all of this.

"Skye felt that the people who are not related to her are those who care for her the most." He answered

'No, I knew. Both of the Evan couple and even Vanessa, they would treat her like a servant. Even though I didn't like that. That time, I didn't do anything to help her. All that time, j just didn't want to confuse her.' I thought to myself.

"I am happy that you have saved my patient's life with that, her wish to go to Africa could come true." Dr. Carter said getting my attention, again.

"AFRICA!?" I yelled through the phone

"Yes. She said she wanted to dedicate her life to the developing nation." He said.

After our conversation, hung up the phone, and sat on my chair in my office, looking up my ceiling.

I then thought back to when Skye wouldn't throw away those tiny vulnerable creatures. And that She would always play with the children at the wards, but... But I also know, that when she's alone she would cry.

When I came to with those thought, I then realize that it would be impossible for Skye to let Vanessa die. Skye why did I even accuse you?

WHY DID I ACCUSE YOU? I ask myself holding my head.
