"You're quick as always.." Said my father, exhausted. Ever since the day Art had fallen off the cliff, father had frequently asked me to spar with him. I figured it was just a way to cope with the stress it left.

It had been roughly almost 5 months since then, and both my parents still hadn't moved on from what had happened. I could understand their pain.

As for me, I have been secretly going out at night to train at the beast glades. It was a little risky to sneak through since security was tight but I was able to conceal myself perfectly with the surroundings. Right now, i am almost breaking through the light red stage.

"Hey.. Asher, you've been going out secretly at night aren't you?" Asked my father after composing himself. I was clearly a little surprised by this. "I'm not sure where you were going all those times, but it seems like you're getting stronger, that's good."

I nodded. I really hope my father hasn't told mother about any of this. "Don't worry, I haven't told your mother yet. Just.. be careful." My father smiled weakly. "I know, father. I'm doing this so I can protect us if.. if anything like that ever happens again."

It's true. Ever since Arthur had fallen off that mountain edge, i felt the need to protect those that's left around me strengthened. I'm sure my father feels the same.

Dinner followed after the spar, accompanied by the gloomy and sad atmosphere. Suddenly, a familiar voice appeared inside my head. Not just mine, but mother's and father's.

"Hi Mom, hi Dad, hi Asher. It's me, Arthur. You're probably really surprised that you're hearing my voice inside your head, huh? Well, there's a reason for that. Before that though, I want you to know that I'm alive and safe. Again, I'm alive and well, Mom, Dad, Asher."

I managed to survive the fall off the cliff and I'm currently living in the Kingdom of Elenoir with the elves. Please don't tell anyone else this. I don't have much time, so I'll only say the things most crucial. A friend of mine is a deviant like you, mom, except she's a diviner, so I was able to see how you guys are doing just now as well. She is also the one that is allowing you guys to be able to hear my voice. I want to go back to you guys as soon as possible, but I can't right now. No, I'm safe and alive right now, but I have a sort of... er... illness inside my body that I need to get rid of before I am able to go back. Don't worry, as long as I stay here and have the elves treat me, I'm 100% okay.

but what's important is that I'm alive and I know you guys are as well. Dad, Mom, Asher, the three of you guys should be hearing my voice right now, so confirm it with each other if you still can't believe this. Remember, don't tell anyone where I am right now. Better yet, just keep it as if I was still dead to make things simpler. It may take months or even years for me to be able to go back, but just be sure that I WILL be going back home. I love you guys sniff so much, and I miss you. Stay safe, and Asher, make sure to keep Mom and our baby sibling safe. Mom sniff, please make sure Dad doesn't get into trouble."

What followed by after that cryptic message was pure silence as everyone tried to process what had happened as we looked at each other.

"D-did you guys hear that too? Honey? Asher?" My father asked, trembling. "Y-yes dear! H-he's still alive!" My mother exclaimed happily, her eyes starting to tear up as she fell to her knees.

The edges of my mouth crept up into a smile, which is the only thing I could muster up. It sounds impossible. After all, I clearly remembered the bottom of the mountain edge being over 100 feet tall. I wonder when we'll meet him again.

Anyways, he's bound to train and learn some new tricks there, so I better start putting in more effort. Fumu, In the hierarchy of siblinghood, an older brother reigns supreme, forever standing above his younger sibling with an unyielding presence of strength, guidance, and support.
