Chapter 13 The Alliance

"Same to you, Jessica," Mana replied to her then turned her head towards the spirits, "Seems you've gotten stronger. Must be the suit, no?"

"Mana?!" Natsuro said in shock, "What the heck are you doing here?!"

"I'm here to help," Mana said, still in a blade lock with the red-haired woman, "Don't worry, I'm on your side now."

"You switched sides just like that?!" The woman said in anger as she pulled away from the blade lock and pointed her blade towards Mana, "All the more reason for me to take your head."

"You guys go ahead," Mana said calmly, "I can handle her."

"Alright," Haruto said as he pulled away, "Let's go gu- Whoa!"

Apparently, before he could finish his sentence, a flurry of missiles flew past him, missing his face by an inch. However, the target of the missiles was not the other spirits, but the robots. As he saw the sudden reinforcements, he was taken aback. Actually, Neri, Natsuro, and Haruto were all taken aback as their other reinforcements came in the form of the person they least expected. With white hair that reflected the lunar light, a revealing armor, and an empty expression, was Tobiichi Origami in the flesh.

"Origami?!" Natsuro said in shock, "Why?!"

"Shido needs help," Origami said flatly as she sliced a robot in half, "I will help Shido however I can."

Their conversation was unfortunately cut short as more robots came in for the attack. The three spirits immediately split up with Natsuro pulling his bowstring and shooting a green Reiryoku arrow, piercing a robot in its head. He then snapped his fingers as roots grew out of the robot and bounded the nearby ones. In a clench of a fist, the robots were crushed as they fell to the road below. Meanwhile, Neri reached her hand forward as the knot behind her back untied and shot it forward in the form of a dragon's mouth, grabbing two robots and proceeding to slam them to their brethren, swatting them from the sky like flies. As the spirits wreaked havoc in the DEM's midst, Natsuro spotted a certain figure coming down from the sky in front of the moon. With long blonde hair shining in the light of her yellow artificial Reiryoku sword and a face too familiar to remember, was the one person feared by all Spirits.

"CRAP!" Natsuro warned the others, "ELLEN IS HERE!"

'WHAT?!" Neri and Haruto said in unison as they looked up to the sky.

In a blink of an eye, Ellen had swooped down from the sky like a hawk to its prey towards the spirits with her blade on the ready. Seeing the incoming threat, Natsuro foolishly charged toward her without any regard for his own safety. Ellen smiled as her prey approached her instead of running away. But she was caught off guard when he shot his arrow at an almost point-blank range. Ellen used her shield to block the attack as it exploded and sent smoke flying around.

As the smoke cleared, Natsuro was nowhere to be seen, but he suddenly appeared behind her as he deactivated his stealth. Natsuro then imbued his kunai-s with his Reiryoku, creating an extended blade of green. He then slashed Ellen with his right but she blocked it with her sword. Without missing a beat, he spun and followed the attack with his left kunai. Still not enough, he repeated the attack multiple times and accelerated it, turning him into a literal buzzsaw of green energy. Ellen seemed to be having difficulty holding this attack as she needed to use both hands to block it.

"Tch... Seems like you become smarter," Ellen said as she kept blocking Natsuro's attack, "Still, you're no match for me."

Ellen then proceed to use all her strength to throw Natsuro back towards a building, but before he could crash, Neri and Haruto immediately stepped in and stopped him from crashing. In a flash, Ellen then charged toward the spirits with her blade at the ready to eliminate the three spirits in one fell swoop. Nevertheless, miracles seem to be on the spirits' side as a certain figure intervenes before Ellen can reach the spirits, holding a white full-metal spear to block her attack.
