The very next day in school, all the students were freaking out and feeling scared. There was an event last night that was super creepy. Rosa walked up to me and was like, "Did you hear what happened!? Isabelle's dead!"
"What happened!?" I exclaimed. Rosa told me that Isabelle's mother found her body in her room closet. She got stabbed in the chest with a knife! I was trembling in fear. Something strange was happening....every time Angela was gone, a person would get seriously injured or killed.
Even Rosa started getting weird vibes from Angela because of the doll's odd actions. She'd heard stuff about haunted dolls, but she thought they were just stories. But now, she was starting to wonder if Angela was just a regular toy or if there was something freaky going on.
"Lily, can I talk to you after school?" Rosa asked.
"Sure," I responded. After school, at my house, Rosa came over and wanted to talk about the strange stuff that was happening. "I don't feel comfortable talking about this in front of Angela, can we take this to your room?" Rosa asked. "But I can't leave Angela alone," I whimpered. "I have to follow the rules," "Forget about the dumb rules!" Rosa yelled. "This is important"Rosa pulled me up to my room, shutting the door behind us. "Just think about it for a sec, Lily," she suggested. "Isabelle's gone, Cooper's had that accident, and all those jerks from school that made your life hell – they've all ended up hurt or worse. You've had that doll for 12 years since your mom passed away. She said that Angela would protect you if you get hurt. Maybe the doll is somehow linked to all this weirdness?" What Rosa was saying was pretty unsettling. I tried to explain to Rosa that Angela wouldn't hurt anyone, but we got interrupted by my aunt.
"I think I've got it figured out..." Aunt Theresa said sadly. "It's back... the evil," "What do you mean?" I questioned. "It's a long story, Lily. When you asked what the history behind the doll was, I left out some details." She said. "I didn't want to scare you, but after your grandmother's friend, Angela, passed away from a house fire, she used every prayer and devotion just to see her best friend again. Your mother, our two twin brothers, and I were worried about her."
"After a while, your grandmother started to see illusions of Angela. She wanted to move into the doll that was given to her by Angela's parents and Grandma said yes. But little did she know, the evil grew stronger. Doors would just randomly swing open without anyone touching them, and lights would blink for no apparent reason. The ancient grandpa clock in the hallway, quiet for ages, started ringing at weird times. Chilly drafts would sneak into the rooms even though all the windows were shut tight. It was like something was trying to reach out or something, giving the house a spooky, unsettling vibe. All of that happened when the doll was around."
"Then one day, when I was alone with the doll. I saw the real Angela Blanc. She had white hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and was wearing a white dress. She was turned around, playing with a tea set. Something was weird about her, so I held a cross in my hands and raised it behind her. Her bones started cracking, her skin started bleeding, and her eyes turned a bloody red."
Once Aunt Theresa finished telling us about Angela, she removed the eyepatch from her right eye, revealing she was missing an eye! Rosa and I were both scared. "What happened to you!?" I screamed. "Angela is a demonic creature..." Aunt Theresa whimpered. "She tricked Grandma so she could move into the doll, by giving her a soul to inhabit. She tried to take mine, but we reached out to the church. They saved my soul." Theresa put her eyepatch back on and hugged me.
"Is she gonna steal Lily away from us?" Rosa said. "Don't be ridiculous Rosa! I know she wouldn't hurt me, I know." I said. "I just...I just don't want you near that doll anymore, Lily." Aunt Theresa said. "But I don't want to leave Angela! I want to follow the rules!" I yelled. "Maybe your Aunt is right Lily," Rosa said. "Time away from Angela would be nice."
I didn't know what to say, but maybe they were right. Maybe I should stay away from Angela for now. Unfortunately, I had a feeling that Angela wouldn't stay away.
