I cut the demons head off and watched as it rolled along to stop at the base of a tree. I looked at it, disgusted.
"EEEKKKK!!!!" The demon screeched, "I'M SORRY!!" The demon sobbed as it was dying, "IT WAS HIM!! I NEVER WANTED THIS!!! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!"
I looked at it and frowned, "Go f*ck yourself. You disgust me, demon." I turned away from its crying form and walked away. "Come on, Sorai!" I called to my crow.
"Coming! Goodbye, my Lord!" The crow bowed to someone behind me and then took flight. He quickly caught up with me.
"Sorai, who did you call 'my Lord'?" I glanced at him as he flew next to me. I noticed how odd he looked. "Sorai. Who was it?"
"...He was... the Lord Death." Sorai answered, flying a bit higher. I looked up at him and frowned.
"Death?" I snickered, "was he collecting souls of the dead~?" I added mocking him. "Ow! Hey, what was that for!?" I shouted at him when he kept pecking me with his beak.
"Do not make fun of my Lord!" He said vehemently. "He doesn't collect souls! He helps them cross over!"
"Yeah, sure~" I didn't believe him, and he seemed to sense this. I saw him fly upwards, and then he flew back down to me.
"This way." I followed Sorai to where he directed me. When we had been walking for a few hours, Sorai stopped and landed on a tree branch.
"...Sorai..." I hid behind a tree when he stopped. He obviously wanted me to stay hidden.
"Shh, listen." Did that b*tch just shush me? I shook my head and listened.
I heard it. A soft, slow melody being sang in the most calming voice I'd ever heard. We looked around to see where it was coming from, and that's when I saw him.
He was walking with some weird blue things towards the water. He was wearing black with chains decorating his jacket, hood, and shoes. His face was covered in shadow from his hood, but I could see his smile...
What the f*ck? Why did I feel calm when I saw that eerie smile? This is weirding me out.
"See? He helps spirits and ghosts pass over." Sorai motioned towards the lake.
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F*CK!?
"Sorai!? Why is there a f*cking LIGHT in the middle of a LAKE!?" I whisper shouted to him. He hit the floor next to me.
"You can see it!?" Why was he so surprised? "Oh, sh*t. You're a psychic medium..." The crow was shocked.
"Oh, a psychic medium? Haven't seen one of those in a while." We both spun around as fast as we could to see the eery man behind us. "What? Did I say something wrong? Are you hurt?" He added lips pursed in confusion as I hit a tree.
"No, my Lord! It just surprised us, that's all!" Sorai sat on the mans hand, doing the crow equivalent of a smile.
"You almost killed me!" I gasped for breath hand to my chest. The mans lips pulled back into an extremely childish grin.
"I'm death! That doesn't matter to me. Life and death are kind of the same. Well, life has a few more hardships." He laughed and helped me sit up straight. "Are you certain your back is alright?"
I blinked in shock. If he was death, why was he so caring? Did we get the wrong idea about death? What if it's nice?
"Would you recommend dying?" I suddenly asked death. He looked at me and smiled serenely.
"No... do try and avoid it for me." The Reaper said slowly. "Death may seem... calm... but the way you die stays with you." He turned his head towards the left, "sugar! Can you come here for a second?"
