As I start to drift to sleep I hear my pack, growl and it wasn't a pleasant growl either... it sounded like there was an attacker!
I quickly put my furs on and head into the wood. I follow the smell of my pack. But then an unfamiliar scent hits me. .. something wasn't right. There was an unfamiliar musk with them!
I speed up,hoping nothing wrong was happening. I was in a full on sprint, hardly feeling the floor beneath me. I felt as free as a bird. Then I slowed my self to a walking pace.
I need to creep around to see what is wrong, I think to myself.
I hide behind a thick tree and peek around the corner. Every one was crowding around something but i could not see what it was. Then it got in its two legs and I could see its face perfectly.
I saw that it looked somewhat like me but with a more slender jaw bone, broader shoulder, lighter hair, and was much taller than me. It was just a little more smaller than a black bear on its hind legs but was still a lot taller.
Seeing it gave me a weird feeling in my stomach, like I wanted to run and jump and howl. I did not understand who it what it was, so I followed them to the cave in perfect silence.
All it really did was obey when Connor told it to follow the pack. Then it said something in a strange language. A language I was too familiar with. One that I dream in, one I secretly speak in when I'm alone.
It surprised me, but I did not make a noise. I followed them to the cave. It just sat there like a dying deer, not moving an inch until it looked into a puddle of water. What was in the water that was so interesting?
Then it looked around and slowly but surely got up and walked toward the mouth of the cave. I had to stop it. I need to know more about the me-look-alike.
Then I got toward it while its back was turned and growled to let it know I was behind it and to not make any sudden movements. Then I tried to get to eye level with the creature by standing on my hind legs but got off balance and almost fell. I grabbed a hold on its shoulder. Then it turned around in a flash and I almost fell again. Until it caught me in its strong front legs.
