The fresh smell of flowers sprouting, the tree branches brushing against each other and... And an ear splitting noise!

I jerked up from my position on the grass. That noise woke me out of my sleep! As I looked around, on the ground and in the sky, the noise seemed to only get louder!! Where is it coming from?

Then something shiny came from a distance in the sky, flew to the left, then disappeared into thin air! I have never seen anything fly like that before! It was extraordinary! As I look around to see if any one else has seen it, I notice no one is any where near me.

As I put my nose to the air to catch their scent, something else smashes into my censes. Three wounded rabbit and a deer! A really big one! All of them were bleeding to death. I followed the smells, quietly to not startle them. As soon as I came really close to them, I noticed a fallen tree blocked my path.

I peered over it and saw Opal, my mother. She was tearing into the flesh of a buck, next to my brother, Tinían,  Caleb, our leader, and Conner my best friend and hunting buddy. Next to them was my two sisters, KaTzé and Síanya an they ate a rabbit each, leaving the third one untouched.

I squeezed into the place between my mom and an overly grown tree. As I looked over her, I noticed something that has never really took any interest into me until now. She was covered head to toe in beautiful, grey and black fur while the only fur I have is on my head, so I wear bear fur on the body parts that need ( right above my breasts to the mid of my thighs, and covers everything in between ).

I must have been looking too long, lost in thought, because my mom was looking at me strangely. A look I am far to aware of. It was the look that said ' I am worried about you'. So I decided to break the tension. "Hey mom. Today I turn thirteen, I guess!" It did the job and drove an ice pick into the tension.

"Yes, I know! How do you feel on your special day?"

"The same as yesterday. Sooo... How are things around here?"

"Things are wonderful, dear!"

"OK I'll go then, I love you!"

I look towards KaTzé. She looks like she has seen a ghost. I guess she does not know how I got there in the first place. She can be absent minded from time to time. I walk toward her, sit down next to her, and she pushes the limp rabbit in front of me. I nod at her and give her a teethy smile. Then take the rabbit in my mouth and walk back to where I woke up.
