PROLOGUE

I quickly put on my boots, hopping as I make my way towards the doorway. Once finished I swing the door open and jump down the few flights of stairs below me as I make an epic landing.

“A New day means new adventures!”
I yelled out in excitement as I turned to my mailbox.

“Maybe I have some new mail?”
I wonder as I open the compartment and pull out a couple envelopes. My eyes glance over them as I read each and every sentence on each envelope. Some of them were fan mail,invitations and occasions. I put back the rest of the letters as I hold the final one in my hands. I feel my stomach turning as my heart beats faster.
'Why am I feeling so nervous..?'  I think before opening it and reading it.

“Dear, Althena.. Hero of the Alcazars.
We have taken some of your fellow friends, I won’t bother listing who but just know that they're under our control. Unless you meet me at the “Madding cliff” then maybe I might consider letting them free. I’ll leave you until dawn to arrive, If you don’t then your friends will be killed. So I’ll wait and just know that this battle is much different then the others.. Much different so be prepared if you would, do what you must and most importantly good luck..

I felt my breathing becoming heavier as I stood there for a solid 5 minutes. I sighed as I put the letter into my pocket,carefully.

“And there goes my weekend..”
I grumbled,sighing once again before heading off to the Alcazars Castle. I watched as the citizens waved towards me or bowed. I smiled but it wasn't a happy one or genuine one. Honestly I was worried, as much of a strong hero I might be, Odessa has always been a strong opponent. Physically and mentally, she always has tricks up her sleeve so you never know what's being thrown at you. Along with the fact that she said that this would be different makes me even more anxious.  No matter what I did, I could never overcome her, she always did something so she could retreat or I'm the one thats forced to retreat. The only villain that could EVER make me scared is Odessa, Princess of the Kagashani Kingdom, Soon to be queen.  Only she could scare me. The only person that I could trust to talk about this information is Zolten, King of the Alcazar Kingdom…

“Read this”
I say, taking the letter out of my pocket and handing it over to him
I watch as he looks over the letter as his eyes dart up towards me then the letter once again. I watch as he leans back in his chair in frustration.

“Great, great! I just got told that apparently Mira’s best friend and some others are missing.. I guess that solves one issue. “
Zolten says pinching the bridge of his nose, it almost looked like steam was coming out of his nostrils.

“Listen, you saw that she wrote that this battle would be different then the others, correct?”
I said,hesitating a bit. I watch Zolten nodd as I continue on.

“I need to go prepare but I need you to know that if I don’t come back by the afternoon, you know why.. I need you to come look for me if I don’t come back.. Do you understand..?”
I say, getting up and walking towards the door, I freeze as I look back towards him,giving him a pleading look,mouthing the words “Please”. He sighs and nodds before raising his hand up.

“Bring some of the soldiers with you and please..do stay safe”
He says as I nodd before rushing out, I need to start making preparations ...fast.

My horse comes to a stop,glancing around. I put up a fist high up in the air as everyone behind me soon comes to a stop. I hear a twig snap as I swing my head to the location of the sound.
