Driving into Beacon Hills early into the morning was surreal. Derek and Charlie had gotten Derek's Camaro out of storage when they arrived in California, making the very tired brunette greteful that his car was fast so that she can sleep in a bed quicker.

The duo sigh as they pull into an apartment that was very obviously under construction on the outside. "They said we can use the first floor till all the renovations are done." Derek says as he shuts off the car.

"Awesome, I need a nap before we go out." Charlie says as she gets out, stretch a bit before grabbing her bag from the back.

"About that." Derek says, stopping the girl in her tracks. "I'm gonna get a head start looking for Laura. Call me when you want me to come get you. Okay?"

Charlie nods before yawning, "Sure. Stay safe please. No picking fights." she teases, before heading for the entrance.

"Yeah no fights." Derek mutters to himself before getting back into his camaro and driving off towards the old Hale house.

An irritated Derek entered the apartment a little past 3 pm, causing the Stilinski girl to raise an eyebrow at his obviously sour mood. "Hello to you too."

Derek sighs, "Hi." he greets her simply.

"Okay, what happened?" Charlie asks going over to him as he leans on a wall.

"I found Laura." he starts, causing the girl's eyes to go wide.

"What? Really? Where is she?" she rushes out questions. Derek looks at her with saddened eyes, making her mood deflate. "No... Don't tell me she was the one in the woods..."

"I found her, and I buried her at the old house. I wanted to give her peace before I go out and kill whoever did... That... to her." Derek explains glaring at the ground.

Charlie slowly pulled Derek into a hug, "I'm so sorry. She was amazing, and didn't deserve to die. We will find whoever did that, okay? I promise." she whispers to him as he slowly hugs her back.

"How can she be gone?" Derek questions lightly, everything hitting him now.

"I don't know... I don't know, she was too young to die." she whispers as he shakes in anger.

"It's not fair." he says as tears finally begin to fall from both their eyes.

"It's not. That's why were going to finish whatever it was Laura was looking into, and try and give her peace." Charlie reassures him.

Derek nods before pulling away and wiping his face. "Okay, yeah. Tomorrow, I'll go back to the preserve and see if I can find any answers at the house. Can you see if your dad or brother has any more information on the other half of her body?"

"I can do that, for now, we need to eat and rest. Jet lag is real, no matter how much you argue with me on it." Charlie tells him, causing him to crack a small smile.

The next day Derek had dropped her off at her old house to hopefully get answers and the keys to her car had been stuck in the garage since she left for New York. Unlocking the door, it felt like she was a teenager again. Nothing had really changed, not even the horrible way that Stiles eats his breakfast.

With his mouth full of food, and hand holding a glass of milk, the teen boy stared at his sister in surprise. "Charlie!" he tried to shout but it came out all muffled.
