In the real world, somewhat late at night, an 18 year old girl, Kendall Ferreira, was checking the mail for her parents while playing My Sweet Bodyguard as she was walking.
As she was getting the mail, a gun was pointed at her. She carefully put her phone away, and looked at the culprit, seeing that they were wearing a mask. "Do you have money on you?"
"No... Sorry..."
"You poor ass! What the hell not?!"
"Because... I just don't." 'I spend a majority on Voltage Inc. games. That's another reason.'
"God! You're pathetic!"
"I'm sorry that I don't have what you want. Can you move along now?"
"You don't tell me what to do! Do you want me to shoot?!"
"I rather you not. I was just minding my own business until you showed up."
"I don't give a shit what you were doing! Hell! Why am I even talking to your broke ass for?! Get the hell out of my way!" And he shot her through the chest.
She held her chest in pain and saw that blood was forming onto her hands. She felt dizzy and fell face down to the floor.

She slowly woke up and realized that she was in some kind of alley. "Where am I..?"
She remembered that she got shot last night and checked the spot that she was shot at. "What the hell? There's no mark and-" She said and looked at her hand. "Uh... My hand kind of looks... Cartoonized. Is that even a word?"
She realized that she was speaking in a different language other than English. "Why am I speaking Japanese?"
She stood up and exited the alley. Her eyes widen as she saw the city atmosphere. "Everything looks like an anime. Even the people." As she said walking around aimlessly.
She passed a shop window and went back to it. She saw her reflection which made her jaw dropped. "I look like an anime girl! Am I in some kind of anime? Or... I don't know. I look so pretty!" 'Hold up... This is the afterlife..? Sweet!'
As she was walking around aimlessly again, she bumped into a rather huge guy, making him drop something that sounded fragile since it broke as it hit the ground. It looked like something very expensive that no one could get anywhere else. 'Oh shit...'
The guy turned towards her, obviously not looking like he wasn't very happy. "Uh... S-Sorry..."
"Do you realize what you've just done?!"
"I broke that." She pointed out.
"Yeah! That was an extremely expensive and rare piece of work made in the 1940s! Now since it's shattered, there's no way it could ever go back to its formal self and we can't replace it!"
"You bought that..?"
"Actually... I stole it and I was going to exchange it at a pawn shop to get a whole lotta moo-lah. It was supposed to help me finally pay off several groups of loan sharks, but you ruined it!"
"Sorry... I can help pay for it if that'll help..."
He busted out laughing. "You mean to tell me that you have 10,000,000? A little girl like you?"
"Oh... No..."
"That's what I thought. How unfortunate for you. I'm part of one of the most dangerous gangs in this nation, and my gang is also connected with the other gangs who could help take care of all this."
