After a while, she began to regain consciousness, but she couldn't open her eyes just yet. "Thanks for your help." Mizuki said. "You did well to fight them on your own. Chief, what are we going to do now?" Kaiji said.

She slowly opened her eyes. "I'm not sure what we should do. Subaru and Sora are gathering information on the organization." Katsuragi said.

'I'm laying on Mizuki's lap, am I? It's so comfortable.'

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault that this happened to Kendall."

"We have rules for a reason, you shouldn't have broken them. Why was she staying at your apartment in the first place? You were scheduled to be at Miss Ferreira's home."

"We were attacked last night by two men. My apartment was closer, so we fled there."

"In that case, you should've informed me. We could've avoided that incident today."

"I'm sorry, sir."

"I heard what happened at the restaurant too. You told Kaiji that you didn't need to switch?"

"I'm sure he was looking out for me, chief. I mean there was no way I could've pretended to be a waiter."

"This has nothing to do with you! This is the first time I've heard of a bodyguard taking the same part-time job as a client. To make sure this won't happen again, Kaiji will be in charge of Miss Ferreira's protection now."

"Kendall chose me! I'll look after her until the end of this case!"

"Our top priority is her safety and you have failed."

'Because he gained a level of our relationship!'

"Mizuki, this is an order. Kaiji will replace you. You don't have a choice in this."

She bolted up and hit her head on the car roof. "AH SHIT!" She was rubbing the top of her head in pain. "Ah! You scared me!" Kaiji said.

"I just have to say this one thing!"

"Miss Ferreira, how are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, but-"

"Miss Ferreira, Kaiji will be your bodyguard now. We need to extend your protection detail."

"But... Mizuki..."

"Whoever is after you know where Mizuki's apartment is. We're going to take you to a safe place nearby. We're dealing with an organized group so we can't take any chances."

"But... I like Mizuki."

"What? You don't like me or something? What's the matter with me?" Kaiji asked.

"Nothing is wrong with you. You're like a bro to me, but it's just-"

"Miss Ferreira, we're doing our best to find out the identity of your attackers. Until we have a breakthrough in this case, I ask that you do as I say."

She sighed and looked down, squeezing Mizuki's hand, but he was only staring out the window. 'Come on bae! Do your thing!'

The car stopped at a red light. "Chief... Forgive me." Mizuki said and grabbed her wrist.
