TW: injury, violence,
Please let me know if I missed any

Techno was the only one watching tonight. He sat in a tree, staring down the sky, and listening to the forest.

At some point, there was a hissing sound, and Techno jumped out of the tree and rolled away just before the tree was blown to smithereens.

He whistled lowly, and stared at the smoking hole where the tree had been just seconds ago.

He didn't manage to get away unscathed, blood dripped from his arm where a large piece of wood left a deep gash. He cursed climbing up a new tree, just to watch a large pair of wings flying downward.

He fumbled for a second out of shock, before throwing a bolas towards the hybrid. His shot was on point, as always, and a high pitched shriek was heard as the silhouette fell.

He hit the communication device to notify Dream, and ran over to where it fell. The night vision making his eyes glow menacingly as he approached the hybrid.

His shot was true, no matter how much the hybrid struggled, they couldn't break free.

He got a good look at the hybrid. It had large black wings, talons, and feathered ears that were hidden by blond hair.

He looked familiar, and had kind blue eyes.

"I've never seen an avian before." He remarked to the hybrid, or maybe to the air, or maybe to nothing at all.

The hybrid looked like they rolled their eyes.

Techno chuckled to himself. "You're quite sassy." He stared at the axe in his hands. "You're just so majestic." He muttered, thinking over everything. "Alright, I can't stop pretending." He held his axe up. "I know you can't understand, but I'll give you a painless death. You're a living being after all, you deserve that respect. But you can not live for the crimes you've committed."

The hybrid seemed to hear him, and lowered their head, exposing their neck. The avian closed his eyes and let out a sad chitter.

Techno lowered his axe, but it stopped halfway. A young man about his age held the axe from the other side. At first, the hunter thought it was just one of the towns folk, but then, upon closer inspection, the young man seemed to shimmer, and then spread a small pair of ragged blue grey wings.

This was the phantom.

The phantom seemed to speak, but it was a language Techno had never heard of.

The avian warbled, and responded in the same language, but he sounded different. Less screeching accent, and more how a bird's call would sound.

The phantom wrenched the axe out of Techno's hands while he was distracted, with a surprising amount of strength.

He flipped it, and cut the ropes. The avian sprung up, his wings spread wide, and his eyes burning with anger.

The phantom threw the axe to the side, and after a moment, appeared right behind Techno, his hands gripping the hunter's shoulders in an icy vise-like hold.

Icy hands crept closer to his neck, he could feel the small claws digging into his skin. Could feel the cold breath as the young man stood behind him.

A phantom bite is venomous. If it bites you, and you are unable to treat it within 24 hours, you will die.

A phantom bite to the neck is lethal.

The avian spoke up, and the phantom seemed to pause, before coming up with a rebuttal. The former countered that with another series of twitters and chirp-like sounds.
