Screams.

Cold.

Noise.

Pain.

Blood.

Foam.

Darkness.

She couldn't feel anything anymore. Couldn't hear anything anymore. The pain and panic and overlay of thousands of noises was cut off like a plug removed from a loudspeaker. Compared to everything before, this was bliss.

She wasn't warm, but she wasn't cold. All she could hear was the slight ringing in her ears.

And then the rush, the stab of pain in her side, then her other side, three in the stomach and five in the arm. Her vision went from pure blindness to blinded by bright lights. Voices rushed into her ears like hornets into a nest. She wanted to scream, to go back to that state of blissful silence and rest, but another stab in the arm put her fully back out.

Noise.

Pain.

Beeps.

Mutters.

A saw.

More darkness.

And so, so much blood.
