5. Let's pretend the problem doesn't exist for a little longer

"Oh, I'm so nervous," Alliana spoke from where she sat on the bed. She wore a hospital gown that the healers had given to her so they could check on her growing child.

"Hey, remember," Sirius told her as he took her hand into his, "whatever they are, we'll love him or her with all of our hearts."

Alliana smiled at her husband before the door opened to reveal the healer. "Hello, Mrs. Selwyn-Black, how are you and baby feeling today?" She asked as she began to examine Alliana's slightly protruding bump.

"From what I can feel on the outside, we're both fine," she told the healer honestly.  "I can start to feel them moving more, so that's definitely exciting."

The healer smiled as she finished her examination. "I'm glad to hear that," she sincerely told her.  "Well, everything looks and feels to be just fine, no concerns of growth problems in the baby; now are you wanting to know the gender-"

"Yes!" Sirius answered before the healer had even finished her sentence.

The two ladies both laughed at how eager he sounded before the healer left to get the potion that would tell them.

"Okay, you can know but I'm gonna turn my eyes away and you can tell me and the rest of the group at our dinner tomorrow, okay?" Alliana told Sirius, who smiled and nodded eagerly.

"I'll have the boys help!" Sirius exclaimed, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"No, I don't want our flat to be destroyed!" Alliana quickly protested.

Before Sirius could argue, the healer came back in with a vial of a clear potion and handed it to Alliana. 

"All you have to do is spit in it and if it turns red, it's a girl and if it turns green, it's a boy," she explained.

Alliana quickly spits into the vial before turning and walking to change before she could ruin the surprise for herself.  The healer looked confused, so Sirius explained why she had left.  A few moments later, the vial's liquid changed colors, causing Sirius to smile even bigger as he looked at the color. The healer then took it before Alliana would see the color.

The next day, the entire group gathered in Sirius and Alliana's flat.  They were all so lucky to have been able to get away from whatever work they were individually doing to celebrate the exciting time.  Alliana and Lily excitedly chatted with each other as Sirius and the rest of the boys prepared for the reveal.

"Alright, we're ready!" Sirius exclaimed and everyone gathered around. "First off, I want to thank you all for coming and supporting me and my beautiful wife, despite the fact that she became pregnant while we weren't married-"

"We get it!" James exclaimed with a laugh. "Can we please reveal what Baby Black is?!"

"Alright, if it's blue, it's a boy and if it's pink, it's a girl!" Peter told the couple as they got their little poppers ready. Alliana held Sirius' hand and squeezed as the boys and Lily all twisted their poppers before they each exploded and pink confetti rained down on the couple as a small banner flew around the room that read, It's A Girl!
