Chapter 21: Warning

As Jin works on a case that was assigned to him, Yunki walks over to Jin's desk. Jin looks up at Yunki and respectfully nods his head.

"Do you enjoy working here?" Yunki asks as he examines Jin.

"I do. It is rather peaceful." Jin hums and sets down the file that he was going through.

"How is your little brother doing?" Yunki asks and leans against Jin's desk.

"He is doing well." Jin tries his hardest to not show emotion.

"That is good. I hope that he is adjusting to the school he is teaching at." Yunki hums and walks away with a grin on his face.

Jin takes several breaths to not let the man rattle him. It would be normal for Yoongi to know about Taehyung, so he knows that he should not react to Yunki.

When his phone rings, Jin startles and looks at it. He is surprised to see that his brother is calling him. "Tae, is everything okay?" Jin asks and closes the file.

"Jungkook is hurt." Taehyung sniffles as his brother's voice calms him.

"What happened?" Jin's eyes widen as he stands up from his desk and grabs his car keys.

"Jeon Jaejoon beat him." Taehyung whimpers and closes his eyes.

"Hyung is coming." Jin quickly runs out of the precinct.

Yunki watches and wonders what rattled Jin so much. He motions for one of his detectives to follow Jin.

As Jin drives to where Taehyung is, he notices that someone is following him, so he calls Namjoon.

"Hyung, is something wrong?" Namjoon asks when he answers the phone.

"Taehyung called me crying. I am going to him right now, but someone is following me. He said that Jungkook is hurt." Jin quickly tells Namjoon as he changes his route.

"I am with them right now. Jungkook is hurt, but he will be okay. Jimin is trying his hardest to calm Taehyung." Namjoon responds as he looks at Taehyung with worry.

"He was getting better, but now he is getting worse," Jin whispers with worry as his eyes become teary.

"I am sorry." Namjoon mumbles and looks down as guilt consumes him.

"It is not your fault. The people who hurt him and who are harming you and Jungkook are at fault. Have Jungkook hold him. I know that Jungkook must be feeling guilty right now, but have him comfort Taehyung. He is the only one who can comfort him at the moment." Jin tells Namjoon and looks at the car that is following him.

Namjoon quickly obeys and has Jungkook comfort Taehyung. The moment that Jungkook holds Taehyung, Taehyung begins to calm down and his cries begin to subside.

"He is doing better." Namjoon sighs in relief.

"See? It is not yours or Jungkook's fault. Taehyung finds comfort in you two." Jin softly tells Namjoon who nods with teary eyes. For most of his life, Namjoon has been told that no one would want him around or would want to be friends with him. He was told no one would care about him and that he was better off dead. Seeing Jungkook comfort Taehyung brings him a relief that he did not know he needed. "Taehyung needs you and Jungkook right now since I cannot go to him."

"We will take care of him. I promise." Namjoon grips his phone as he watches Taehyung calm in Jungkook's embrace.

"Thank you, Namjoon-ah." Jin sighs in relief and drives to arrest the person he is investigating. "Tell him that Hyung is sorry."

"He will understand." Namjoon hangs up and then walks over to Taehyung. "Your hyung wants Jungkook and me to protect you. Is that okay?" Namjoon softly asks as he kneels in front of Taehyung.
