Lucas and Max were walking home from school together, laughing and talking about their day. They had been dating for a few months now, and they were so happy together.
As they walked, Lucas reached out and took Max's hand, and she smiled up at him. They walked like that for a little while, just enjoying each other's company.
When they got to Max's house, they stopped outside her front door. Lucas turned to her and said, "I had a really great time with you today."
Max smiled and said, "Me too. I'm so glad we're together."
Lucas leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips, and she kissed him back. They stood there for a few moments, lost in each other's embrace.
Finally, Lucas pulled back and said, "I should go. I'll see you tomorrow?"
Max nodded and said, "Definitely."
Lucas smiled and turned to walk away, but then he turned back and said, "Hey, Max?"
"Yeah?" she said.
"I love you," he said.
Max's heart swelled with love and happiness as she replied, "I love you too, Lucas."
They shared one more kiss before Lucas walked away, and Max went inside, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world to have found such a wonderful boyfriend.
