You felt something poking your body as you opened your eyes.

The first thing you saw was the sun shining brightly in your eyes. You turned your face around but scratched your nose in the process.
You were in a bush.

You slowly climbed out and landed on the dirt-coated ground. There were barely any injuries, to your surprise. Only minor scrapes and bruises covered your body.

You wondered how you survived that train explosion. An explosion that big could kill someone in a heartbeat. Did you jump out before it happened? Did someone pull you out? You doubted it and concluded that the bush caught your fall and helped you survive. You were dusting yourself off and noticed something else was odd.

Yeonjun wasn't with you.

You began to panic and shouted his name. "Yeonjun! Yeonjun! Where are you?"

Ignoring the pain, you pushed yourself up from the ground and ran. Your body was screaming, but you couldn't rest.

About twenty feet from where you landed, a foot sticking out from behind a rock. The foot began to move, and something behind the rock groaned in pain. There was only one person that this could be.

"Yeonjun!"

You ran to the rock and saw Yeonjun lying on the ground. His injuries looked worse than yours.

You gently moved his left arm off the rock and tapped his face with your hands. "Yeonjun, wake up! It's me, Y/n! Yeonjun, please wake up!"

He didn't make a sound.

You placed your head on his chest to check if his heart was still beating. You sighed with relief when you heard it.

There was nothing left of the train or tracks. The tracks had melted and took on weird shapes. The burnt and destroyed train cars littered the ground. Looking at this made you wonder about something else.

The train exploded, so that meant it caught on fire. And who usually puts out the fire? Firefighters. Police officers and paramedics would also come to check if the scene was safe and if anyone needed help.

If that had happened, why were you and Yeonjun left outside injured? Someone would have to notice you two.

Why didn't you two get help?

Your thoughts were interrupted when Yeonjun groaned again and called out your name.

"Y/n,"

You gasped. "Yeonjun, are you okay?"

"Does it look like it?" Yeonjun answered, eyes still closed. "I'm barely alive. It feels like my bones broke into a million pieces."

"Don't worry, I'll find help!" you cry.

"There's no use, Y/n. No one isn't coming to help us."

"What do you mean?"

"I was awake when the firefighters came and put out the fire. After finished, they climbed into their trucks and drove away."

"Wait, 'drove away?' Does that mean they ignored us?"

"Seems like it. Also, our belongings got destroyed in the explosion. So the only things we have are our bodies and clothes.

You couldn't believe it. No one came to help you two. The map to Hellas Basin Crater was gone as well. Hope was all lost. You brought your knees to your chest and began to cry.

Yeonjun opened his eyes and saw you crying. With his less injured arm, he tugged your shirt, making you look at him.

"Y/n lay down on my arm."

"Yeonjun, aren't you injured, though?"

"Y/n, please just do it."

You nodded, and Yeonjun opened up his arm so you could do it. Once you did, he wrapped his arm around you and held you tight. "Let's just close our eyes for a minute. It's just the two of us; let's enjoy the silence."

"Yeonjun, how could you talk so much if you're injured?"

"You're injured too, and you're talking just fine."

Soon, you and Yeonjun fell into a deep sleep.

A blue pickup truck was driving along on the destroyed train tracks. The two men had heard an explosion in the middle of the night and learned on the news that it was the bullet train. They decided to explore it this morning.

The passenger looked out the window and saw something strange on the ground. The vehicle continued driving, so he turned his head back to get a better look. Once he realized what it was, he shouted.

"Stop the truck!"

The driver pushed his foot on the brake pedal, and the truck stopped abruptly. "Taehyun, what is it?"

Taehyun pointed at the rock. "I saw something strange by that rock. I feel like it's people." "Then what we're waiting for? Let's go check."

The two men jumped out of the truck and ran to the rock. Once they saw a foot, they ran faster and collapsed on the ground.

They couldn't believe what was in front of them: two teens, one of them barely alive.

"Kai, are these high schoolers?" Taehyun asked his friend.

Kai felt each of their pulses. "I think they are. Thankfully, they're still breathing. Do you think they're from the train explosion?"

"It would be a miracle if they were. The news said no one survived. What do we do? There are no hospitals nearby. The closest one is two hours away."

"We'll have to take them to our house. Taehyun, load them in the back of the truck and sit with them. Be careful with the boy; he looks more injured than the girl."

Kai and Taehyun picked up the teens and placed them in the truck, starting with the girl first. After they loaded the boy, Taehyun climbed into the back with them.

Kai started the engine and drove to their house.
