This line seemed a little overdramatic, nonetheless, fear seated itself in Sandra's chest. She was about to ask what the hell Jeremy meant by that, but as she started, a frog poked its head out of a fake log. It seemed to make eye contact with her. Her question answered itself.

“I’m not going to be eaten by a frog.” She breathed. Jeremy looked at her.

“Run.” As Jeremy said this, the frog opened its mouth, and it’s tongue shot out. It was aimed at Sandra. She just barely managed to make out of the way. The adrenaline kicked in, and she ran to a rock on the other side of the enclosure.

Jeremy watched as Sandra nearly became frog food. He followed her to behind the rock. As they ran, he felt the tongue brush past his leg, but miss. When they got behind the rock, Jeremy’s mind raced to think of how to escape.

“ What do we do?” Sandra asked.

“ I don’t know, we might be able to-” There was a thud and the frog was on top of the rock. It’s tongue shot out again, this time wrapping around Jeremy’s legs.

“Jeremy!” Sandra shouted. She jumped and grabbed Jeremy hands as he was suddenly flung towards the frog's mouth. She dug her heels into the dirt, trying to keep the frog from achieving his goal. It was a brutal tug of war. Jeremy’s ribs began to hurt. Sandra’s grip began to slip.

Jeremy fell face down into the dirt, bringing Sandra with them. The frog had let go, but as Jeremy got himself up, he witnessed as the frog's tongue wrapped itself around Sandra. He was unable to react as he watched Sandra realize her predicament. And zip off into the frog's mouth. He heard her muffled screams as she was swallowed whole by the amphibian.

Suddenly the world was very dark and moist for Sandra. She barely had time to scream before she felt herself being pulled into the creature's digestive tract. It was cramped, squishy, and wet. Not to mention the smell.

Jeremy didn’t have time to feel, well, anything about the situation. If he too didn't want to be food, then he needed to run. So, that’s what he did. He ran around the rock and ran to the small pool in the enclosure. Maybe he could use the murky water to escape the frog. He ran and ran, switching directions every time the sound of the tongue flinging through the air hit his ears.

He dived into what may as well have been a lake to him. Swimming as quickly as possible to the other side. He waited under the water for as long as he could hold his breath. He felt he was safe. The frog couldn’t see him in the water. Thank god, he had been putting off cleaning the tank. He crawled out of the lake, laying down to catch his breath a moment. This was a mistake. The frog appeared over him. He couldn’t react, the tongue shot out and brought him to the mouth. The world went dark. Muscles pulled him down into the stomach, where he landed on top of Sandra. They were cramped, bodies close together, covered in sweat and frog juices.

“What do we do now?”

“We wait.”

“Won’t we be digested?”

“Yes.”

“ Won’t that kill us?”

“Probably not, Em wouldn’t let that happen. She’s too mad.”

‘What the fuck is happening here?’ Sandra thought to herself.  ‘How can he be so calm about being eaten by a frog?’

The night was a long one. They laid still as the frog's body had its way with them. They felt as its muscles pushed them through until, after hours, they were pushed out.

“What the fuck!” Sandra shouted as she stood up. The frog hopping away from them. Jeremy stood up and brushed himself up. Then looked up. There was Em standing above them, smiling, that horrible, evil, smile.
