"Calm down Claire, those sales aren't going anywhere and honestly I'll practically buy anything you want so what's the rush?" I said to Claire who kept tugging on my sleeves and begging me to bring her to the shopping mall.

"Still, by the time we get there, there would be no sales to go to!"

"Yeah, alright come on."

"Yes!" While she jumped up and down like a five-year-old kid who had too much sugar.

I shook my head and we left in my red Ferrari car that my father had gave me on my sixteenth birthday. Claire kept on surfing through the radio channels until she stopped at one channel that was playing One Direction "No Control". I grinned when the song blasted through the car. That was our jam, our rock and roll—okay maybe pop soul. She looked at me with a wide grin on her face, her eyes twinkling in mischief. I shook my head and started singing with her on the chorus.  Just as the song had finished, we arrived to our destination. We found a free parking space, parked our car and started to make our grand entry into the Time Square Mall.

After two hours, we decided to head into one more shop which was H&M that sold all kinds of sweater, shirt, pants and shoes. While we were picking out our clothes, Claire and I spotted Nick and three best friends of his, Sam the red haired guy, Max the dark chocolate hair guy who has dimples on his left cheeks and Jonathan the dark blonde hair with piercing green eyes laughing about something. I felt happy and shy at the same time, I mean we just became friends. But something tells me otherwise—that evil grin on his face tells me something was up. I was about to leave the shop when Claire stopped me.

"Where are you going?" Claire asked as placed a hand against my chest and stopped me again when I tried to push her away. I took in deep breath before shaking my head.

"Home."

"Why?" Claire asked with curiosity latched in her voiced.

"I think you know why. Come on let's go and end our shopping journey."

"No! Come on. Let's hear what Nick and his friends are talking about," said Claire while tugging on my sleeves.

"No, let's go—" I was cut by Claire's pleading.

"Please, aren't you curious at least a little about what he's talking about?" she said levelling her gaze at me with that knowing look in her eyes. I bit my bottom lip before glancing back at them. She slowly smirked, stretching her lips upwards when I finally sighed in defeat. She always won, she always knew my biggest weakness was curiosity. I just hope satisfaction would bring me back to life if I ever got killed one day.

"A little, but that doesn't mean we should eavesdrop,"

"Please Zen, please?"

"Alright, fine let's—"I didn't even get to finish what I was trying to say because Claire had started to drag me to the nearest spot so we could hear what Nick and his friends were talking about. Unfortunately, it was near the clothing rack. Clothes hanging from the metal handle swished on my face as we scooted down and listened.

It was muffled slightly due to the clothes. I couldn't clearly hear what he was saying. But I caught some words enough to know what they were talking about.

"I mean, really guys. He's naïve and stupid at the same time. I can't believe he would fall for me. I mean, come on, like I would ever like him back. I'm not gay." Nick said while smirking.

Sam, the blonde guy, standing beside Nick said, "Poor him, but at the same time it's funny. So remember this, the dare is not over until he falls for you and then—" Sam stopped before he gestured something snapping half with his hands. "Break his heart. You know, it'll be even more rewarding if you get—to—you know, fuck him."

Nick grinned lecherously at Sam before laughing. "You know it,' he said with a wink. I took in a sharp breath, glancing at Claire who in return glanced at me furrowed her eyebrows. I felt everything in me halting. I sighed shakily before I stood up and walked away, Claire following me.

"I'm so sorry Zen, I didn't know they were actually talking about you," she said in guilty tone.

"It's okay Claire, not like you knew what they're talking about anyway. Let's go home."

"Alright," said Claire while nodding her head before we left the store and made our way to the car. I was about to turn on the ignition a hand touched mine. I turned around and saw Claire. Her face was no longer dull but instead, something was brewing her eyes. I raised my eyebrows at her, knowing that she had thought of something already.

"Claire, why are you smiling?"

"Let's ruin him."

"What?"

"Yeah! I mean, he doesn't know that we know. So, let's turn this dare around and make him regret ever thinking about messing with you."

"I—I don't know, Claire," I said, uncertainty washing into me. She just sighed before she gripped my hands tight.

"Come on, Zen! Don't you want to get your revenge?" she smiled wickedly. I bit my bottom lip again, wondering if I should do it. But when I recalled back to what Nick had said, I decided to throw caution to the wind.

"Alright, let's do it," I said while smiling back at her. I was going to make him regret he ever thought I would be so blind. By the end of it all, he would be crawling back to me on his knees. He would be begging for me to forgive him.

Nick, when that time comes, I'll see you on the flip side.
