A young man named Jacob, in his early 20's, dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts, meets and befriends Caleb McLaughlin and begins a close friendship with him. But Jacob has a secret, one that could tear this new found friendship apart. And...
As soon as that word came out of Caleb's mouth, for Jacob... Everything started spinning. It felt like an earthquake in his mind, as if he was on some crazy, spinning carnival ride that he couldn't get off. He felt like he was on a bumpy dirt road. Everything was spinning, jumping around. All he could see was bright lights, all spinning.
Then... darkness.
After a while of being lost in this spinning rotation, he finally felt in his mind again, conscious... But everything was black.
He felt something on his face.
"Hey, hey, wha-"
"Hey, hold on hold on hold on-" He heard Caleb's voice.
Whatever was on Jacob's face is removed.
He sees Caleb looking down at him. Caleb has a look of both deep fear and relief.
"Jacob?" he asks.
Jacob can barely comprehend what's happening. One second, he was in Caleb's house... and he found out he had a girlfriend.
Then, everything was spinning.
Now, he's in some room, with Caleb looking down at him. Caleb smiles, some water wells up in his eyes, and he leans forward and hugs him.
While Jacob always enjoys a 'Caleb hug', he can't help but still feel confused. He looks around... he's in a hospital room, on a bed. He has a hospital gown on, an IV in his arm, and a nasal tube in his nose.
Caleb leans down at him. He's in a light brown, pink-ish hoodie and says to Jacob,
"Welcome back to the world, brother!"

Caleb's voice seems a tad-bit deeper. He thinks about what Caleb just said... Finally, Jacob speaks, in a very weak, barely audible way,
"W-welcome back to the world? Wha- what do you mean?"
Caleb takes a deep breath, looking down at him.
"There's no easy way to say this, Jacob... You've been in a catatonic state for the past two months."
Jacob feels like a giant weight was just dropped on his chest. He starts to lean up, and Caleb leans down,
"Woah, woah, brother, slow down..."
"Wha- what do you mean? A what-state?"
Caleb slowly pushes Jacob back down onto the bed, and then leans back up, looking down at him,
"Jacob, I... The last time we saw each other, at least with you conscious, was July. It's September."
Jacob starts to feel vertigo again. He gets dizzy and light-headed almost instantly.
