CHAPTER FOUR

CALEB'S WORLD

After how much of an effort THAT last chapter was, I feel the need to write this and publish it right after...

It's been two days since THAT day.

Four days since Jacob last saw or heard from Caleb.

At the moment, Jacob sat in his apartment room, headphones on, listening to a certain song:

Can't take back the hours

Minutes, seconds, time's ticking

Wake up and smell the flowers

Tomorrow, do it all again

Jacob had a giant smile on his face, and was bopping his head back and forth.

Sitting next to him was a stack of magazines... all with Caleb on the front cover.

I've been looking forward to the summer, the summer

This time last year I met you

You

We can see the stars tonight

Jacob picked up and looked at the magazine covers. Hearing Caleb singing,

Need someone to chill with

That knows what I'm feeling

I'm thinking of you

Too much on my mind

I'm all in my head

When you get some time

Can we just...

Jacob is smiling.

He's completely in a place for the past two days he calls...

'Caleb's World'.

Watching every interview he could find, and he even started a subscription for Netflix and Peacock just so he could watch Concrete Cowboy and Shooting Stars.

Then, he hears a knock on the door. And he hears a familiar voice,

"Jacob?!"

It's Caleb.

Jacob feels a HUGE whirlwind of excitement, a gigantic smile shines on his face.

He starts to get up, but then stops-

Wait a second...

"Hold on a second!" he yells to the door.

He quickly grabs the stack of magazine covers, runs to his bedroom, and shoves them under his mattress. He runs back to the living room and opens the door.

Caleb is standing there in a red button up shirt with white lines on it.
