Chapter 4

Tita Emery has been pacing back and forth since we arrived earlier. Tears were actively streaming down her pretty face as well. She was panicking while Tito Arturo was busy talking to Dahlia's doctors.

"Cans, I think my mom needs to rest. She has been like that ever since my doctors made a diagnosis." Dahlia said to me as we are both looking at her parents.
My dear best friend who had just been diagnosed with Leukemia. Still, she can't help worrying about others instead of herself. How selfless.

Her whole family is here. Her parents, aunts and uncles, even her cousins who all have different lives now are present in the room. They all allotted a bit of their precious time for our Dahlia.The only ones missing are her grandparents who I heard was still stuck in Madrid because of business matters.

The Villafuertes is from old money. That's what they say and I myself believed it. Dahlia is my childhood best friend and I have been a constant guest of the family ever since. I'm quite close with her cousins too, and of course, there's Reid.

Their money doesn't just revolve around the country, it certainly is a global thing. Tito Alfie,Kuya Zach's dad, handles Vtech, their multi million dollar tech company which is based in LA.
Tito Abel, Dahlia's Uncle and Geoff's dad,heads V Air, their airline company,which is also in LA.
The V Industries, their construction side is now being passed to Kuya Benjamin by his father, Tito Archer.
And of course, the head company, the one that started it all, The V Corporate Group, Vcorp, is managed by my godfather,and Reid's Dad,Tito Achilles.

A lot of powerful people occupy this very room right now all because our beloved Dahlia has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Leukemia.
I can't help but wonder, how will they take it? Dahlia is their star. Their very own lucky charm. She saved her own parents marriage.

What will happen now that she's on the verge of dying?

Dahlia dying?

NOOOO!!!

My poor friend.

I took her hand as I couldn't help but let out a silent cry.

She doesn't deserve this.
She can't leave me like this.

"Stop it, Cans. You both know I'll cry next if you do cry. " Dahlia said as she lifted my chin. She smiled.

"Dahlia."

She smiled again before speaking,
"Cans, look around you, they are all sad and it's breaking my heart that I am the one causing them this agony."

I looked around and saw what she is saying.
"All of these people love you, Dahlia, including me, that's why we can't help but be sad. " I replied.

She kept her smiling face as she responded,
" And I love you all too, I love you Cans, but remember my favourite phrase? Qué Sera Sera. Whatever will be,will be."

I can't contain it anymore, and I embraced her so tight and finally let my tears fall.  She hugged me back, and it was not a minute after when I hear also her sobs, which then turned to a loud cry.

My poor Dahlia.

I tightened my hug around her. She must be keeping it all to herself ever since. I gave her small taps on her back as she let it all out.

I then felt all those eyes in the room are now looking at us. Her mom's crying again on her father's shoulder as he hugged her back.
Harvey and Axis are crying too while Kuya Zach and Kuya Benjamin have swollen eyes. Geoffrey's eyes are looking nowhere but us. Her uncles and aunts are all having their own thoughts as well.
I looked around once more and noticed, Reid had already left.

The heavy vibrations of my phone stopped Dahlia and I from our embrace.

"I think you should get that."

" Yeah, Can I just-"

"Sure, Of course, Cans, Answer it".She took a glimpse of my phone in hand then gave her biggest smile.
The vibrations then stopped, I looked at it and saw the call already is missed. I was about to hid my phone back but it vibrated again, this time a message alert.

I opened it,

6:21PM PST

I'm outside.
